Seems like we have a lot of people on here who know the area really well. Im curious which area is the last to close for the season? Baker?

Baker

X2 on Mt. Baker. Still lots of snow to ride on. Just be aware that the creeks are really starting to open up & all the cornices are getting alot weaker. And for GOD SAKE stay off the glacier this time of year!!

Never been to Gold Creek. Ill have to check that out soon. Seems like we are sooo close to being able to ride year round, its just too bad we didn't have a tad more elevation I guess.

Year Round

The year round riding is contained in Wilderness. One more example of a policy choice that is no good for business (and riding!).

We'll be riding Tampico a few more weeks before we park them for the summer. Hoping to make the first weekend of June unless this heatwave turns it all to rocks.:face-icon-small-hap:face-icon-small-sad

Can anyone tell me how far the snow is melted up FR12 towards Schribers Meadow on the south side of Baker?

A friend was up there last Saturday and said the snow was still below the last switchback...

I thought we were shooting for August 1st like we did a couple of years ago.....Ha Ha....ain't happening this year for sure. I doubt we will get our annual July ride in this year either. Your probably right on first week of June.

That would be Tampico. The first two pictures are at the top of the Convention Center (where it normally drifts super deep) and the last picture is at the top of the Superbowl where the you can see what's left of the cornices. Good times. Summ8rmk and myself were both able to get 10 miles on our sleds. We had a nice small Snocross track that we rode until we got to 10. Amazingly, that section of snow was over 10 feet deep still.

Hot lunch @ Superbowl . Sorry , picture of different motorsport , but I love that area all year around !

We're headed up there tomorrow... should still have more snow than in those pics though, lol:face-icon-small-sho:face-icon-small-hap:clock:

I'll bet it'll be soft with as hot as it has been this week... it was 97* in the shade at my house today :mad:

Baker parking on Thurs. was up almost to the quarry on the long straight-away before the trailhead. Early melt out with these hot temps this average snow year. Glacier's are really opening up quick! Last trip to the crater this year for me!

I had to work today or else Id have gone up this weekend. I dont know why I didnt plan on going tomorrow :( Shame on me!!!
