Whats the best Jacket and Pants for deep powder?

I was in tog this past weekend and as you all may know they got pounded w/ a couple feet of fresh snow. I was having a blast carving, climbing, etc until i got completely wet and full of snow. Right know i wear arctiva bibs and jacket... the heaviest most wet pile of junk i have ever worn. the only thing dry was my hands because i purchased a pair of TNA storm gloves which are the best gloves for hard riding. before i head out again i want to be able to hop around on my sled with ease and also staying dry at the same time. in other words im looking for light weight, warm, dry and easy moving gear!

i have KLIM bibs and jacket that are 4 years old and still keep me dry:D

Well I wear Klim Freeride pants. And I can literally wear them anywere w/out getting hot, cold, or wet. I love them. And great to ride in.

I've been wearing a FXR jacket for 2-3 yars and it has kept me dry and warm as long as you wear the fleece under it.

I got it and you should too!

While Klim gear is excellent quality and proven for dry durability it doesn't hold a candle to HMK 08 Stealth gear for the bold part of your post!

The best gear I've ridden for those exact parameters. Dry, warm, light, 2x the fabric flexability, much better rider friendly athletic cut for maximum freedom of movement. Looking cool is just a freebie!

Nobody ever asked me to get them a coat when I was wearing KLIM or any factory apparel. I get daily requests from riding partners to get them HMK. A bunch of our crew is starting to outfit in HMK. NO COMPLAINTS WHAT SO EVER. I don't even sell it!

Well fbomb sure makes a case for hmk. I have KLIM and LOVE it. I was weary of the $$$$$$ but I got lucky and scored bibs and jacket for $300. After wearing them the last 3 years I would probably pay the full price if I needed new gear.

I tried everything BUT Klim for years.....didn't want to be another "klimClone" on the hill. But this year I swallowed my pride and got the Togwotee bibs and wish I had done it years ago....worth every penny, light, dry, durable, fit great. I also just wear a Klim pack jacket (windbreaker basically) with a polarfleece under and have not been wet or cold. Excellent quality, proven over the years. There is a reason it's popular and people pay top $$ for it. I have their Gore-tex boots also, just never a worry about being cold.

chalk up another one for Klim! this is the first year me and the buds bought klim...and this is the first time we came back dry..dry..dry..after riding in the deep pow! we usually come back soaking wet with our old supposeably good gear!

only downside is that we look like drones!!

My father inlaw upgraded from arctiva to klim and loves it. Much easier to move, feels lighter, and he stays dry all day in the deep stuff.

Oakley! Just got pants and a coat, found them on sale so bought them, cost me 200 for the pile. Reg. 300. Most dry I have EVER been after riding! Tough material too!

I think that KLIM is as good or better than anything out there,I ride with about twenty different guys, and about 95% wear klim,it is never a concern weather we're wet or not, always dry.I counted one day and about 10 guys have the all black klim,so might just as well get on the band wagon, just choose you color wishly. LOL.

I wear the klim Freeride Pants, Klim Adrenaline boots, Klim Gloves, all very good products! For the Jacket I wear the Burton AK 3L XCR goretex really durable and breathable and I've never been wet once:D

Klim is worth every penny.. I have heard a lot of good stuff about hmk.. and its nice to see another company doing so.. so people have an option

I will be different....ski gear is the best. If your looking for the best long under wear go Lifa, nothing transfers moisture away from your body better. Double layer if you get cold and all you will need on top is an alpine type jacket...these are super lightweight as they are 2-3 ply waterproof breathable..these don;t get wet from the powder and especially around the collar where your breathing and creating lots of heat agains the powder which if you where a thick type jacket usually gets pretty icy there. Oakley, Helly Hansen, Arcteryx etc....all work awesome and are lighter weight than klim gear or most other sled gear...my 2 cents..

I agree with Norona, although my FxR (yamaha bibs) have a nice feature that none
of my ski pants have, they have a button/strap on the gator that you hook to
your laces on your boots, keeps the pants down and the snow out.

for my jacket I wear my Karbon Jacket(ski gear) has a powder skirt inside
that keeps the snow out, removable sleeves for the spring riding :)

I would suggest that whatever brand you buy try it on before you buy none of its cheap and return shipping can run up the cost fast . also the sizing charts vary considerably .
