Whats the best enclosed trailer?

I've got a pace american 24' enclosed trailer with the axles underneath. Im not very satisfied with it and I think I'm going to look into a new one. What do you guys suggest. Should I look into one with the wheel wells in the trailer? Any brands that are best?

Thanks

Why aren't you happy with the pace trailer? We have been borrowing a friends pace 16ft v nose trailer since last year and we really like it. I have been thinking of getting one alittle larger for myself.

I think that the "best" would be a Triton or Featherlight, simply because they are all aluminum making them light for towing. I just bought a 22' box length Triton and it only weighs 2500 pounds without sleds. Steel trailers range from 3500 pounds (less all options) and up. Charmac would be my first choice for a combo steel/aluminum trailer.
Find a good dealer with good service and start there.

My dad bought a 28 foot charmac last season. It's got heavier duty axles than usual so it sits really high, but overall seems like a really good trailer. It's well insulated and we just installed some glides to make unloading/loading really easy. I'm not sure about the weight, but I'm sure its up there. He went out and bought a Hummer H2 to tow it, and it's kind of funny because the trailer makes the Hummer look small.

That is the best kind of trailer. The one you borrow.

Mirage 22 ft.

Great floors, finished walls inside. Just add some more D rings in the floor and your set.

Do some comparing and you will see for your self.

We got a Triton enclosed it is really light and we really like it, it has held up well and is well built.

I'm gettin' a Mirage 20 footer in 2 weeks so I hope mines gonna be better than tearupamountain's. The brochure beside me says they have 7,000# axles and can haul 3,600-4,700#'s so that comes up to a 16 footer being 2300#'s. That's a lot lighter than 3500+. One thing about a Mirage is they have poly bead floors that the carbides won't hurt. Another thing is they have torsion adjustable axles for ride height and I'm sure stiffness. Hope mine doesn't rust.

If you like rust and poor fit and finish buy a mirage

I'll second that, mine is two years(2007) old nothing but rust underneath, poor workmanship
price was right but if I had to do over again I would pay the extra $$$$$ and go with a hallmark or triton. You get what you pay for.

I have been happy with my Interstate Allsport it has 5200# axles with small wheel wells inside. I have had to paint the steel bits around the doors and on the hitch but I think your going to get rust with any steel trailer. It does'nt really hurt anything it just looks bad. I added a layer of 1/4" plywood to the floor to take the abuse from the ski carbides. Trailer cost about half of what a Triton goes for, but they are very nice. I would have one of those if money was no worry!

I have a 30' Legend. 24' with 6' V. With the 6' "V" you can park straight and drop the front door with plenty of room between the truck and trailer. With the wheel wells inside the trailer, the profile is lower so it doesn't catch the wind.

i've had 3 wells cargo of different sizes, steel....they rust after 3rd year, so what steel trailer doesn't....the factory is close by, and they honor their warranty very well, the trailer functions well, no problems other than lights burning out, and a loading door that wouldn't open after sitting for 6 months (replaced under warranty)...so if i was buying a steel trailer, i'd do another wells.......but i looked at an aluminum triton at the snow show recently, and was way impressed

Triton, Featherlite, and Charmac are the 3 best IMO. Although i've only seen one or two Tritons in real life they really seem to be nice and well built trailers. There are lots of Charmac's and Featherlites though. When I bought mine 4 years ago I looked into the FL's but they were 4K more expensive without a heater. My Charmac is a great trailer and I see the new ones are even nicer.
