I had my heart set on a Pro for this year, but not sure if Ill be able to financially swing it. I was curious what you guys thought of this M1000. Im really into tech riding and Im 220lbs 6ft5 so Im not sure how big of a deal it is that its a bit larger/heavier sled. Thoughts on if something like this would keep up with my buddies on the Pros this year or if Id be kicking myself for the purchase...........

Seems like a decent deal to me. Not sure what the m1's go for in the states but the price seems about normal to me. The M1 will keep with a pro IMO especially given your size. I'm 5'9 165 and I put my m1 more places than most people I ride with. They are a bit heavier in the front end but that can be overcome easily.

Thanks for the info! Im going crazy trying to decide what Im going to do for this season.

What about the crate engine, Ive read the M1000 have or had crank bearing issues. Would the crate engine have addressed that?

I put 2500 miles on mine and then got it ported by rkt and ran it for another 800 miles and no issues. Good buddy of mine has well over 4000 on his and its never missed a beat. I've never seen an issue at all with any 1000's I've rode with

If the sled is taken care of like that garage I would not touch it with a ten foot pole. It is hard to tell by the pics but it looks trashed to me.

Save your money and buy a pro

Pretty sure my local dealer still has a 13 pro, 163 for under 10,000. Brand new. I would take the financial hit and go for it. Worst case is you have to turn around and get out from under it. And if I had to choose one to try and re sale, I would rather have a one yeAr old pro, vs a 5-6 year old, already modded, already blown a motor, looks kinda beat up, old technology sled. C'mon man, that's what banks are for!!! ;)

Link if u were curious about the holdover sled..

Not gonna lie my garage falls to pieces sometimes but the toys are maintained to the fullest. Sucks going out and having a breakdown for something that was preventable.

looks like to me that pics were taken right after he put the crate motor in.

tools strung about after a big project, Everybody I know leaves tools all over the place while working on something. stock pro puts out 145HP and weighs around 450 lbs. this sled with SLP components is purring out 193HP, and from the looks of it is 60 -70 lbs lighter than stock which was 522 lbs, so you have a 10-15 lb heavier sled and an xtra 48 HP.. I'm willing to bet this sled will outclimb a stock pro all day long, you might be a little more wore out at the end of the day that your buddies riding pros, because the m1000 is heavier in the front and requires more muscle to maneuver but so what, unless your some kind of weakazz pansy it shouldn't be an issue. A new crate motor should be good for at least 2500-3000 miles, primary clutch will crap out in the next 500-1000 miles probably. but over all I see $6500 of sled there

Thanks, thats a great reply. Im really not bothered by the weight, not to toot my own horn, but Im a pretty big and fit guy. I just dont want to purchase a seld that Id be later kicking myself for purchasing.

Must be a difference in area but there is no way to get $6500 out of an '08 M1 around here. I'd be thrilled to get that out of my '10 M8.

in my parts country cat has brand new 10 m8s for 7100
I sold my 08 1000 with a bdx drive for 6200 at hay days 3 yrs ago.
I would be smiling all the way to the bank if I got 6500 for a 6 yr old sled

You guys seriously need to come sell your sleds in Canada, 10 m8 is going for around 7500-8200$ where I live in BC

I hear ya, just found out a dealer has a 2012 Pro 163 with 1,700 miles for $8,500. $6,500 for an older sled just seems really high.
