What's everybody running for octane and boost in the 3-6000 ft level

Im a firm believer in straight 100ll or 50/50 110 and pump. I have never seen a motor go down because of too much octane.......The other way:sad:

Dont waste your money on octane boost if you are trying to boost actual numbers...if anything use Klotz or Torqo for consistant fuel.

Torqo makes a product they clam will make octane levels hirer based off 91pump, but then again you're mixing different liquids...

Just a couple gallons straight 100LL or 110 race fuel will work fine

I ride sea level to ~3500'. Strait 100LL, PA 11:1 turbo head, usually 7-8 psi is about all I can get at a parking lot @ sea level (air density of usually negative a few hundred feet) upwards of about 2000' I can run 10 pretty well. 12.5 at sea level was too much....

vipec

I believe he is running the Vipec, so much more advanced then the stock ECU or piggyback

cats of out the bag!

Thats what I hope he has but I hope that he's got it on a Silber set up. this would make my decision to move forward with the vi pec easier!:face-icon-small-dis

Cody Phillips has a silber at his shop now or soon getting tuned with Vipec.

I think Jack has had people ask him for support also, depending on location either person would be a good option to work with.

Silber and Dobeck have hit a home run this year with the new updates to the kit.

I have just upgraded my 2012 Silber Pro kit with all the standard 2013 kit parts and all I can say is Kick ***! The New electronics from Dobeck make this sled run flawless. I am running 8-10lbs of boost at 2200ft on straight Avgas. No more DET lights! Real field results. Super happy!! Thanks Justin and Chris from Dobeck for making IMHO the best running boosted PRO out there:face-icon-small-hap

We were running a 2012 Silber kit on 12 155 retro on straight av at 10lbs today at 6000 feet in blue river BC in 4' of fresh snow and it straight out ripped!! Good shape in western Canada already! Lol

The way they have the dobeck 3.5 set up this year is pretty slick, it uses the factory ECU to pull timing as you roll into boost.

I'm with Boston Racing. The new Silber kit with a Dobek 3.5 box will not adjust timing. They have changed the box so it receives the boost signal electronicly from a sensor that has been placed within the charge system.

This means moisture can not get inside the Dobek box and freeze or damage the circuit board and pressure sensor. I know this for a fact.

I had the privilege of going to meet the Dobek crew (chris shover) at thier facility and watch them make my box, test it, and upload Justins new mapping.

Anybody who has the new box and mapping from Silber knows these things rip. Justin is out west testing all the time and has his kits dominating the back country these days

THANKS GUYS FOR A GREAT SETUP!!!!

In a round about way it may. Incorporating the factory TMAP sensor allows the ECU to control fueling and possibly timing based on tempeture. The ECU will lean the sled out as air temp goes up and it is possible that it can also change timing based on temp. It wouldn't be the box doing it but the factory ECU.

The vipec kits are pulling a lot of timing to run that much boost at low elevations. One of the big advantages of the vipec. I personally would rather run 110 or a mix and pull less timing. But "pump gas" is where the market is I guess. I am shocked how many guys on here running $20,000+ dollar machines and tens of thousands in gear/trucks/trailers whine about expensive fuel. I would rather run the correct octane even if its $8 a gallon.
