what your sled looks like in 14 feet of snow!!!

it is hard for some of us flatlanders that have never timed our trips right to even imagine!

Killer pics sandman!

Right on Ron, were coming down Thursday as long as the roads get opened up, I cant wait to play on Bailey.

Is it too much??

Pullin one ski brodies in my front yard last nite: Sure is nice being snowed in.
FYI for all you weekend warriors: All the hiways will be open by this weekend: Still like a war zone around here for the next few days tho. Everybody go to Bailey: More fresh for me in the good places!

I'd be extremely careful about playing on Bailey in these conditions. Lots of other good places to ride up there and I'd give it awhile to set up before riding the open steep areas.

sundays pics

these are from what i'm referring to as "stuckfest 08":) another day of some of the best powder i've seen. riding partner for the day wasn't quite, how should i say this, motivated enough for the task at hand! wanted to get some pow busting photos but didn't get the chance, was using the manuel backhoe alot! the first is a nice sideshot, love the way the snow folds up in front of the sled, the second is what i saw most of the day when coming around a corner, my buddie lowell trying to trench his way to china:eek: forgot to tell him you can let off the throttle before you're buried 4+feet deep:) whats a few extra hundred shovels full of snow between friends anyway! quality time together, thats what male bonding is all about:) the last is a one is what i'm calling "the road never traveled" this is where we turned around and man i can still hear that road calling me...

This is definitely going to be a year to remember! I've been in on quite a few epic pow rides but haven't seen it non stop snow like this in along time. Rockys are haven a gooood winter.

29 feet at Crater? Say what?

Snoboner: What you talkin bout 29 feet at Crater Lake: Thats like 350 inches: You talkin cumulative?? There's 10 - 13 ft (120 - 154") above 5k ft right now in the So Cascades. Could be shaping up to be another year like 98-99 which was the biggest in recent times: Bailey and Crater had 35 - 50 ft on the ground by April!

On the ground Rambob:D The park always has more snow on the ground than Diamond or surrounding Cascades

rambob i say we hit the top of kelsay this weekend and use our laser guided snow measures and check the snow depth. do you think we could measure crater from there, because i have no urge to ride up by there to find out:) we'll leave that for the weekend warriors,or maybe we could just dive into a couple of 13+ feet poofy white banks and call it even!!!

Snoboner: I know Crater gets more snow then Diamond....but where are you getting that 29 ft reading from???

Whatever, not starting a p!ssing match here. You guys got Snoparks plowed out yet so we can have a place to park?

Yellow Snow

Thats what you get with a pissing match this time of year!
SNOBONER: I just thought you might have some website that I dont know about: No biggie! We do have access to a naval intel site that estimates snow depth for sat data; but who cares: Our main concern is the next shovel load or whats up in front of your sled!
SANDMAN: I actually would like to go up to Crater and then down 138: the trees are good riding when there's a good snow year.
3 of us are meeting the ODOT guys this AM and going up the hiway to see whats up......... Both 230 and 138 should be open by this PM is the latest word.
