what year and model rev should I buy / stay away from?

1800snow.... what did it run you to put a new top end in?QUOTE]

I did the kit from MCB performance($289). It was about $600, 5 hours, and a great experience. But that was with a replacemant cylinder(honed out, $220), supplies, and a RAVE valve replacement($40). Also the kit has everything you need but the rave valve gasket

I just got done doing a top end on a 06 for a friend who's sled was loosing compression. You can go cheap or spend a bunch. I had 200.00 in parts with spi piston kits, gasket set and caged bearings. Other than being a PIA to work on it went pretty smooth. (We went cheap) Gave me new appreciation for still riding my old obsolete edge...... Gives me lots of time to work on everybody elses sleds! Compression is back up and got to dial in the new polaris/team clutch setup. Still has a electrical issue I couldn't find. It won't run good and misses and cuts out with hand/thumb warmers and or bright lights...????

have to agree, 06 is a solid year
but you will almost pay the same for an 06 as you would an 08 XP - they r that good
lots of people want them and not many want to get rid of them (the '06)

i have only put a few miles on mine, and it has been great thus far (small brake fire, but its all fixed up lookin mint now!! haha)
