His ad is misleading. Who the fawk would buy just one hook on purpose?

People but one hook all the time. Mostly for oval racing but but lots of people only use a hook on the brake side for left hand sidehilling. Your hand needs to stay on the grip on the right or you can't reach the throttle. If the seller was selling only packs of two, people would say "why the he!! do I have to pay for two when all I want is one!" That's why they sell skis one at a time, in case you hurt one. I agree to a point, that they should say "available in pairs" or something, but it did say "hook" lower down. I think this whole thread is much ado about nothing, but I relpyed too:D

Neg rep with a nice comment, "Seller used misleading ad information, not easy to deal with, regret doing business with him." Something to that nature....

For the small amount of circle racers compared to those who use them mountain, they should sell them as pairs all the time.

I agree with polaris_1334 leave a negative feedback in a professional way. Also report the auction to ebay as well. It truly is misleading and ebay doesn't take kindly to that. It says hooks in two places in the auction and only says hook in one. At the very least the guy will have to go through the trouble to fix his auction template.

In fact, SLP sells these hooks per each: http://www.slp.cc/catalog.cfm?pageID=detail&catalogID=3&catID=25&productID=53

get a grip!

I agree with you on the mis-info in the auction ad,that being said, why would you put on only one hook if you were not sure you would receive the second? I think we need some fresh powder so we can get some riding threads instead of this crap. just my opinion:rolleyes::beer;

I am looking at the SLP Catalogue and the top of the item it says "SLP Control Hooks". It goes on to describe the hooks and then at the very bottom says kit sold per each. So is SLP being misleading too?
A couple years ago when I first ordered from SLP and got my "one" hook I was a little upset too, until I figured out that it was my own fault for not reading the whole ad.

And here we see the difference show me that in the ad....;)

a pic of only one and it says in big bold letters...
includes hook and cushion grip.

I believe someone already pointed that out to you. I'm not trying to get in a pissing match with you I merely gave an example of how assuming something instead of reading and "understanding" what you are getting sometimes gets unexpected results

And in the same ad it says HOOKS in bold letters too, i understand its mixing words, and I stand by the dousche attude I received as the reason I am pissed. I think the emails would explain the rest of the issue.

We do need snow I need to get out there and test out my hook lol.

Yes attitude goes a long way, when I called SLP (upset) to find out where my other hook was they were very nice in showing me my error, so I didn't feel as bad that I had to buy another one :)

By the way, they are 23.95 in the catalogue and I am sure that they would get you one quickly if you haven't already got another

SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW

Ill be getting another shortly, and your right attitude really goes a long way. When I contacted the seller I offered to split and then even buy another at full price, he chose to be rude so egg me on, so it came here.

:beer; We need some snow dances and pagan rituals in here to even out the christain riders thread and the jehovas witness thread. :face-icon-small-con

You can imagine how mad I was after I was the winning bidder on his ad for hookers. Who the h*ll wants just one?! I mean seriously?!

Sorry, I couldn't resist trying to add some levity. Seems like lately just about every thread turns into a pi$$ing match.

And for the record, if you were a seller who wanted people to be happy with their purchase, how hard would it be to ad a line like "This is for the purchase of one hook only" or some other crap like that? Seems like it would avoid an awful lot of headaches like this one...

only one pictured

unfortunately for you pictures tell a thousand words and there is only one pictured so there is only one available.

If SLP is selling one for $23 why do you think you can get 2 for $22.

As for plural things how about HANDLEBARS. are you going to get 2 handlebars????

communication goes both ways you could have just simply asked.

flat landers use a 90 degree on the brake and a 45 degree on the throttle. the 90 degree matches with a hooked brake handle.

later

I dunno what are we driving for multiple handlebars?? I am pretty sure all the bikes I posted in the other thread have 2 bars.. :D :beer; Pretty sure since you have only one post and this is it you are prob the guy that sold the pos to me... As for simply asking I stated I was not 100% correct it was just the total rude attitude of his that sent me off on this, honestly had he stopped repeatedly emailing me this never would have happened. I think its about a 60/40 split overall with people who think the ad was bs vs. those that dont. As for SLP selling one I didnt ck the catalog I went by the misleading poorly worded ad that the guy put up.
