What tunnel bags and gas can

For those with the Mtn Addiction setup, did you have any problems with the channels clogging with ice when the can/pack is not on and then trying to slide these on? I had one guy (from another brand) tell me that the plastic will also swell making it hard to slide the components on. Not sure if anyone has seen this or not. I came close to doing the Mtn Addiction setup.

My mountain addiction tanks have fallen off numerous times from landing hard on jumps... Not thrasing the tanks but somehow they managed to fall off. Other then that I really like them!

i ordered the mountain addiction for my new sled. I only have the cans on when driving up the trail from the truck to the hill. Then I take them off at the top. So I am not really worried about them coming off when riding. Plus when the cans are not on there, there is basically nothing left on the sled. I also went with the polaris shovel bag for the tunnel. Even if you don't put a shovel in it, you can zip the hole for the shovel handle shut and use that compartment for storage. There is quite a bit of storage and its low profile. works good for a snow bunjie. Last I went with the polaris under seat bag. I may also put the Polaris handlebar bag on.

I haven't seen this personally, but we do have dry snow up here. Anything on the tunnel seems to melt off and haven't had a problem with a build up there either. I can't see how the plastic can swell, maybe plastic rails were curved at an angle and sliding the cans on/off was difficult?

Deep Late night thought...........

To cure this problem! Hmm.:face-icon-small-con:face-icon-small-win

Can we put a Stop at the End on each end.. Kinda Like Little Thumb screw..

O Geez.. lol.. :light:

-We can just Drill a Hole and Put a Clevis Pin In.. With a Short Plastic coated cable..Loops on each end. Riveted to the tunnel.. Perfect! Simple. Cheap.. Light Weight!!!

Mine already has the clevis pins installed at each end.. I'm not super sure how they're popping out of the channel. Maybe I just have the mount glides aligned and mounted incorrect... The tank and the glide mount seems to have worn loose over the years making the fit between the two sloppy...

Anyone see a good way to mount the sled solutions tunnel bag using the T-rail? I don't like the idea of riveting the straps to my tunnel but want the bag... hmmm. Think It would work great with a mountain addiction 3.3 gas can right infront of it.

Without knowing you or who you ride with it's tough to say but I've never had to carry gas on the PRO. We ride pretty hard and in some good stuff and I've never had to stop riding and turn back because the PRO was out of fuel. It's either we are out of time, energy, good riding, or other sleds that we go with are out. I've brought it to the trailer on fumes many times but those were 20 mile trail ins to the goods plus all day of deep fun. NOTE: on the PRO if you have serious climb to get out of a hole you better have over 1/4 tank of fuel...the pick up goes dry on super steep long pulls on a low tank...and it's over.

For the level of performance that you get off trail these are pretty impressive on fuel use.

Ok the Powderkeg looks like the one I like the most now, but it is also the most expensive. Jim from Grizzly already contacted me and wants to hook me up if thats the one I want to buy:becky:

With all this talk about packs and gas can...

Remember that the PRO RMK is NOT designed to carry more than 15lbs back there.
2.5 gallons of gas = approx 15 lbs.

Any weight should be located as close to the seat supports as possible.

DO NOT place a gas can at the rear of the tunnel!!

The problem is when you jump or hit repeated woops on the trail and pound the snot out of the back tunnel.

If you tunnel buckles because you put more than the 15lbs on there that Polaris warns about in the owners manual or on the sticker on the tunnel... they you have yourself to blame.

.

I use the True Adventure gear tunnel bag with the Holz gas rack. I either bring extra gas or use the tunnel bag. If I bring extra gas I use the under seat bag for storage, I'm a pack rat.

Powder keg. functionality is perfect. Some like the look some dont. Awesome combo and customer service.

If you folks could see the system that fastens the Powder Keg on you would not be dealing with fuel jugs falling off and you would have tons of storage in a solid container, not fabric with zippers. I purchased one just like this one shown and the fastening system is slick and bulletproof. Looks alot better than most aftermarket add ons. These systems are designed around the specific sled plaform, not a one size fits all.
