What tunnel bags and gas can

Ok this is going to be my first POO and Proride, just wanted to get your guys thoughts on which tunnel bags and do I need a gas jug? My one buddy who had a Pro last year said he would never carry a gas jug because they do great on gas and he has the shovel bag and underseat bag on his and thats it. I carry my shovel in my backpack so I dont really need that shovel bag, and yes his bags are POO bags also, dont know if the aftermarket has better? I want a good quality one that the zippers arent going to fail like my DOO bags did!! Just want your 2 cents here, Thanks Dallas

I took out a demo last season and it didnt take much gas. Depends on where you ride. I took mine up to revvy and its about a 20km right up switch backs to get to the playing area. I rode around up there for about 6hours of solid riding and didnt need to fill up. how ever when it was time to go back i put in a bit of gas that i did bring with me witch was about 10L of gas i think thats a bit more then 2gal, and it brought my tank back up to half. you should only need to bring about 2 gals of gas depending on how hard you ride.

I used my gas can on my DOO only about 3 times total in 2 years, most of the time now we ride in Colorado on Buff pass were there is no place to get gas except back at our trailer at the bottom of the hill, all my buds still have DOO's for now, until they ride my new Pro:becky: and they all have gas cans with them.

They really sip gas. If you want the absolute best functionality and looks take a peek at the powderkeg. It's truly the best.

MOUNTAIN ADDICTION!!!

They have a track rack system that requires no straps or anything. YOu can get a combo kit that has a 1.3 gallon jug and their small bag. Then you can buy an extra 1.3 gallon jug if you plan on going on a really long ride, so you can carry 2.6 gallons. Gas and storage in one sweet package.

I will be running this on my sled this year along with the Polaris Shovel, Underseat, and Windshield bag...plenty of gas and storage

I really like my Craigerbuilt rack because I can haul a gas can or bag for my stuff. I found that i never used my gas can because the Pro gets such good fuel mileage. All the other guys usually needed fuel before me (or I was tired from a full tank of riding!). The Craigerbuilt rack is great because the bag comes off very easily so you can throw it in the truck or bring it in the house. I know others do the same, but I've been happy with it so far.

Love my Mountain Addiction rails and can. Works awesome and it's very low profile when your not carrying a can.

Another Mountain Addiction vote here. Best quality cans I have ever purchased, very solid and roll over tested.

As far as bags are concerned, I have had Polaris shovel bag, windshield bag (tiny but handy for truck keys and hat), underseat bag, and switchback underseat bag (much more room than the standard underseat). They all function well and the zippers have been fine, but things do get damp/wet in them. I'm not sure if it's from leaking around the zippers or caused by the heated tunnel and melting snow. The hot/cold tunnel temps I think will cause moisture in any bag. Skinz also makes some water proof underseat and tunnel bags that look well built.

Wow looks like I have some options:becky: I do like that new sled solutions one also, I will have a gas can just to make me feel better even if I might not ever use it. Like normal all you guys have great suggestions, so thanks again!! Dallas

Mountain Addiction gives you lots of options, cans, bags, great spouts, been bulletproof for me. Not mentioned - it also nicely raises the can or bag off the tunnel abit, allowing for better cooling, and the pro needs what it can get. Zero wetness. FWIW.

I should add - I have a BOSS seat on it, also, which means no Powderkeg, i.e. Between the BOSS and MA options, I happy, can carry 3.5 gals, and another bag, or less fuel, or a single bag. Combined with windshield, bar, and underhood goggle bag, lack of dry storage and fuel will not be an issue.

Make sure you get a bag that comes off and on easily. I won't drill into my tunnel so the kit has to use the Pro tunnel channel to connect. Skinz has some cool stuff, but I don't like the dangling straps. I suppose you could use electrical tape and keep them out of the way.

Great Tunnel Rack & Bag

Take a look at the tunnel rack I and others use from J-Tech Design Inc-MN. Works great with the yellow waterproof boat bag from Gander Mountain. Also provides quick access to sno-bungie and the shovel.

X 2 on that!

X 2 ON THAT!
If you ride hard in the deep and steep stuff, are you going to need that extra fuel!
