What to ride?

Hey all!! I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I have been out of sledding for a few years, my last sled was a 2003 Polaris vertical escape. Now with my life and job I have time to start riding again. A couple years ago I rode a rev and didn't care for it and also rode a 09 M1000 and it felt a little better, but a few weeks ago I rode a 2011 xp 800 and absolutely loved it and for not riding for a couple years I felt comfortable on the sled right away. So as I right now I am leaning towards snow checking a 2013 ski doo 800 163 because I loved how the xp handled. I don't know much about the other mtn sleds out there. So I joined the forum. Cheers!!

First off, welcome to Snowest. Since you are new to the forum I will just tell you there have been about 8 million posts just like yours. I will save you some time. The number one answer to these posts is this...try to ride as many different sleds as you can and then make your choice from there. Spare yourself the grief of reading the "this brand is the best" spiels. Everyone is different and has different like and dislikes. Another tip...get a sled with warranty.

I have been thinking about the warranty and trying to ride different sleds. It can be tough to be able to demo other machines, most the guys I know have ski doos and a couple have new cats but I don't know anyone who rides the new pro rmk which is the other one I would really like to try. It can be a little tough to make it to demo rides and for me I would need a good day on a machine to get a good feel for it. But I will try and ride the different sleds, but I am also going to do lots of reading and listen to all the likes and dislikes of all the machines to help make a decision as well. But since the only machine I have been able to put any decent amount of seat time on is the xp and since I really enjoyed it, the doo is the front runner for me right now.

Not the top consideration but make sure you have a decent dealer near you that sells/services the brand you purchase....Good luck and have fun
