What to pack — emergency and otherwise?

Merry Christmas.
I hope everyone is doing well this holiday season and ready for another year in the mountains.

For the past few years, I’ve been slowly adding things to my emergency kit. I have a small storage box attached to my snowbike and sled, and of course the backpack.

Aside from the basics (water, snacks, beacon, shovel, probe, saw), what are some important things you don’t leave the parking lot without?
Most of us just ride for the day, but are you prepared to spend the night if you had to? I don’t think I am.
I’m looking for an extensive list, but anything little tool/idea you have might be helpful to others as well.

Cheers and Happy Holidays.

I sweat alot, so I vacuum pack a set of wool underwear to change into. Rope and pulley have come in handy.

we carry headlights, down hoodies, down mittens, small tarp, fire starters, lights, waterproof matches, food. Also tools, rope and other sled repair items.

- Lighters (several)
- Lots of Grabber mega warmers (or similar)
- Spot, Inreach or Zoleo
- Extensive first aid kit that you go through each year to update/replace
- Flashlights/headlamps
- Ratchet straps
- SOL survival kit
- Vacuum packed puffy coat
- Leatherman
- Nexcare waterproof tape (for blisters)
- Readily available 7-8" saw. (The ones that come in shovel handles aren't practical)
- Extra gloves
- Fire starters

A lot of the same as others

Bivey SOL x 2
Saw mtn lab chain and folding
Medical kit
Tourniquet
Vacuumed pack base, socks, jacket
Leather gloves
Tampons (fire starter)
Multi packs of hand warmers
All tools u can fit in klim tool kit
Gorilla tape
Zip ties long to short

I keep on me in pack, bivy, bottle water, snacks, communication, lighter/fire starter.

Things happen to sled fire, lost, etc. All above pretty lite and easy to keep

A metal container to boil/melt snow for water
Hydration packets to add to water
Dry base layer,socks,gloves hat

Plus tons of what others have already mentioned. I try to carry enough to get me a night or two of survival in worst case scenario.

Carry most “luxury” items on the sled and the absolute needed items on my backpack in the event of being separated from the sled
