what to do?

so, i put down my $500.00 deposit on a new 2012 nytro mtx 162 with the supercharger option. I have been waiting patiently as they said that they would probably see the sled in october. i have called around 3-4 times starting in september just to see if i could get a little better eta on when the sled shows up at the dealer i ordered it from. They could not give me any more info except that it should be in oct.

I decided to call again today as i just called last week and had not heard back from them, which has been the only minor complaint i have with them, not returning calls when promised, anyway, I was told from the salesman that he would check and call me back in around 10 minutes. So around 4 hours later, i recieved a call from the sales manager, and he informed me that when i put down my deposit, they ordered my sled and that they have a piece of paper that says that they ordered it from yamaha. the only problem he said, was that yamaha never recieved the order.

So here i sit, with a $500.00 deposit and no sled yet. the dealer told me that they were going to work with yamaha to get me a sled.

I am not naming the dealer at this time as i dont think that it is a important detail at this time.

So what should i do. any thoughts from anyone?

I am trying to be understanding and calm as mistakes happen, but i am getting concerned that i may not get the sled i have been waiting for for what seems like a eternity.

well with my experience through yamaha youll be lucky to get a sled if that dealer didnt order any extras, and theyll offer you a deal on an 11 or 10 stock model for $7000 -$8000. i hope you do get your sled though. thinkin about finally tradin in my 08...but then they said trade in was only $3500! guess ill clean her up n put her on craigs list here soon.and if it wernt for the pull of that dam four stroke,i myself, would already be dealing with the skiboo service dept. i talked to another dealer and explained my situation just to get some feedback on what to do. he gave me the reps contact info and said to call around to some other dealers to check their inventory to see if they have recieved any 2012 sleds yet. he also said to call my dealer everyday to get a update on whats going on as far as doing a dealer locater to find me a sled. basically he said help them to help me.
any one else have some other thoughts,info???

I haven't seen the 2012 nytro's at the dealer i go to. They did tell me they had 10 sleds they were adding boost to when they arrive. Good luck.

Charger, that really sucks! I hope they figure something out for you, or I should say that they BETTER figure something out. You can't take a customers snowcheck money and not actually snowcheck a sled for them.

they might try to find another for him,but they wont try hard as hes already found out. and if not, theyll offer a refund and a discount on an older sled. and i bet it cost you more in the end to put the turbo onto it. ive dealt with these guys before. i read or heard a rumor they were selling out to honda or something, so i doubt theyre givin up too much free. good luck again charger.

i dont if it helps ya, but i was just droolin on one yesterday at the dealer here in anchorage alaska.

Mister907... I was just wondering what you meant when you said that you have delt with these guys before? as i didnt mention any names. selling to honda? are you talking about yamaha corp. or a specific dealer?

well...huh... i cudda swore i was just readin a thread around here about that yamaha sell out rumor, but was just tryin to find it again and cant. maybe i WAS dreamin it up. as far as "dealing with them before", after i took my 08 nytro tank in for first 300 mi check,the tech asked me how high i was jumping it. i laughed and told him it was a mtn sled, i dont jump it. he says, no really how high? i was gettin upset and asked him why. of course you kno where im going with this. the running boards were bent down an inch on each side, right behind the foot hole.(i weigh 155 geared up MAX) i took it to the dealer i had bought it from and asked wtf? why do my running boards look like the 140 horses actually drive this thing?? the service guy,the sales man,and the other two who were there all say i was riding too hard, (been ridin yamaha my whole life) and they could do notta. one of them gave me the option to call the manufacturer and see what that could do. after a longer wait than it seems like this post is, i finally talked with a rude woman who basically said tuff ****. they did ask what i thought might be a fix, and then laughed when i said i needed a reinforced set of running boards. but by now i think we all know better than to buy prototype models, and the skinz airframes are the fix. glad to hear they got something going for you,i got a pm from a guy sayin the one i was droolin on was his. hope you get to ride soon, tear up some hills for me, im grounded til feb.
