What To Buy?

i'm a teenager looking to buy a new mountain machine next fallhttp://snowest.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif. right now i'm thinking of either a 800 ski doo summit with the REV platform or one of the 07-08 polaris 700 polaris rmk's. just looking for some reviews on the sleds and maybe some suggestions. pros and cons?

I'm in the same boat. There is lots of 05/06 m7 for cheap but I don't think i'll be satisfied with just a 7. 05/06 summit revs make a lot of power. If I had the money i would deffinatly go for a 07 700 rmk.

07 700 RMK Hands Down

I ll challenge any one on an 8 and u dick the event My sled rocks stock and if u do get bored with the amount of power then put a gas pump turbo on it and it will be pushin 215 HP at elevation!

I'm biased, but I truly think that my 2007 D7 is a great machine. I just bought a new 2009 D8. They are nearly identical, with the D8 having more low end grunt. The D7 makes the same HP as my STOCK D8 up high. I have a RMX kit on it from Xtreme and it really does rip. Take a look at my ad in my signature down below. Never broke down and left me on the hill but always seems to go where anyone else goes. I don't always get the high mark, but I beat some 800's from time to time. I wish I had the space and money to keep it as a backup!

Id go with a new RMK Shift 600 155. And if I didnt buy a Polaris, Id find a good used M7 153. Just my .02.

Go with an M7 or M8 you wont regret it. The M8 is more reliable than any other 2 stroke mountain sled out there.

i like the yamaha's but i'm not that experienced of a rider and when i get stuck i don't want to be digging and pulling something out that's 600+ lbs.

thats exactly what i thought as well. my nytro is 550 pounds. a rev or even a rmk is much less however when your stuck with any machine whats the difference if it is 600 pounds or 450 pounds? there is no way a guy can get that out without a shovel and a couple buddies. when your stuck your stuck. knowing your sleds capabilities as well as your own is what keeps you from getting stuck.

i currently have a 07 D7 and it is amazing. I love the new polaris chassis. I will sell you mine if you want haha. Looking to go new next year

You wont be dissapointed in an M7, not as far as I can tell. I went from a 02 RMK 800, slp pipe can clutch, and lots of lightwieght parts to a bone stock '05 M7 153 EFI.

Yesterday I rode with 2 '02 800 RMK's both piped, one 151, one 144, a new stock 800 XP 154, and a '07 600 RMK with a 660 kit piped.

I was trading high marks all day with the XP, and that rider is 50 lbs lighter than me. Most of the time I was marking him by 20 feet.

I used to make fun of my buddies M7, not anymore. Great in the powder, and climbs better than a 700 has any right to. If you have a lot of rough trail to ride in and out, the M7 suspension isn't great, and it uses more gas than any of my buddies sleds on the same ride. For the price I think it is a way better choice than a rev. The D7 is another excellent 700, but quite a bit more $$ than the M7's.
