What Temps for the Pro With and without Gizmo?

Stats checked out OK. Sounds like some sleds are running hot and the majority are running more normal. (145 Deg. max )
I think next we will look at the timing.
Updates to follow.

Gizmo does not seem to be an issue here.

First 200 miles mine was 145 Deg. to 180 Deg. Powder and trails with scratchers down. Snow was soft and fluffy.

Installed the Gizmo for the next 350 miles and temp were 158 Deg. to 180 Deg. powder and trail with scratchers down. Snow was heavier and should have been better cooling.

Met with the Polaris team at the demo tour at Bear Lodge Feb. 12th. and they told me those temps were to high. Should be running 125 to 145 Deg.

Have I got a problem? Timing??

The Gizmo seemed to stop the cold shots but it seems my temps are overall a little higher with it.

One ex Polaris dealer told me I could try putting in some water wetter, A product made by Redline which I have ordered but not got yet to try.

I just wanted to get some thoughts on this and see what everyone else was seeing with their Pro's

Thanks in advance for the input.

On the 2011 take the snow flap off and put the stander one on. one that has no holes in it. that will bring your temps down.

we have several in our group, most run 130ish with good pow. once it sets up a totally different story, if its hardpacked, hadn't snowed here in over a month, even with scratchers down they will overheat. i'm not talking just one or 2, like i said we have several in our group and they will all get hot!!! even with the scratchers down, if you think yours won't you haven't rode one hard enough snow yet. all in our group have had to stop more than once when packed to cool. temps up to 200 all the time on hardpack. we usually shut them down about 185-190, right around 200 they will start to puke a little. even on half way packed trails the temps start to rise.

the gizmo isn't supposed to lower temps, just keep it from getting a blast of colder water when fired back up after being hot.

Same here. Will the standard RMK front cooler bolt in. Pain in th ars when you are riding next to 3 dragons that are 130 degrees, Yamahas running cool, and you are the only one stopping to cool down. Took my kids out and goofed around and it was sit and wait alot. Put it in the powder and 130 is normal. But hard snow or wind blown snow, and add dicing through the trees and easily 190 or better. I don't think I have had my scratchers up 10% of the total miles. Love the sled but have to do something different in the cooler department, or find a nice dragon for trade:)

when i rode our demo 800 rmk i ran with no scratchers but all the bogie wheels. on a 15m mile freshly groomed trail i never saw temps of over 180.

Holy crap! 180 degrees?

If I hit 140, I'll stop and put down the scratchers and be right at 127. Pow riding 122.

Over 2,000 miles now.

When I stop (by choice or by stuck) I'll wait until the temp is back up to 120 before taking off. If I stop by choice I'll let the engine idle for a little while to circulate the coolant and reduce the temperature spiking.

My anal retentive alternative to spending $300 on the gizmo.

I hit 200 while pokeing around on hard pack this weekend with scratchers, extra boogie kit and no gizmo.

Same here while moving slow on a hard packed goat trail. Once we started moving faster she cooled right down. While moving slow the scratchers don't do much...

I hit 200 while pokeing around on hard pack this weekend with scratchers, extra boogie kit and no gizmo.

Most of mine riding.. with sidekicks.. i see 122-127

On small goat path no fresh snow.. highest i saw was 174!
