First 200 miles mine was 145 Deg. to 180 Deg. Powder and trails with scratchers down. Snow was soft and fluffy.
Installed the Gizmo for the next 350 miles and temp were 158 Deg. to 180 Deg. powder and trail with scratchers down. Snow was heavier and should have been better cooling.
Met with the Polaris team at the demo tour at Bear Lodge Feb. 12th. and they told me those temps were to high. Should be running 125 to 145 Deg.
Have I got a problem? Timing??
The Gizmo seemed to stop the cold shots but it seems my temps are overall a little higher with it.
One ex Polaris dealer told me I could try putting in some water wetter, A product made by Redline which I have ordered but not got yet to try.
I just wanted to get some thoughts on this and see what everyone else was seeing with their Pro's
Thanks in advance for the input.
we have several in our group, most run 130ish with good pow. once it sets up a totally different story, if its hardpacked, hadn't snowed here in over a month, even with scratchers down they will overheat. i'm not talking just one or 2, like i said we have several in our group and they will all get hot!!! even with the scratchers down, if you think yours won't you haven't rode one hard enough snow yet. all in our group have had to stop more than once when packed to cool. temps up to 200 all the time on hardpack. we usually shut them down about 185-190, right around 200 they will start to puke a little. even on half way packed trails the temps start to rise.
the gizmo isn't supposed to lower temps, just keep it from getting a blast of colder water when fired back up after being hot.
I hit 200 while pokeing around on hard pack this weekend with scratchers, extra boogie kit and no gizmo.
