What;s Your Wuss Factor

I didn't want corrupt the battery thread. What's your temperature cut off for staying home from riding

Wuss Scale:

0 - -40F/-40C Superman/ total non Wuss/ possible idiot

to

10 - +40F/+4.4C Complete Wuss/panty waste

Mine is about 0F or -18C so that makes me a 5 on the Wuss scale

M5

I know I can take single digits so that would be my lower limit for high temps for the day.

I also know that at -10F, riding just can't be done as it is just too cold with the added wind chill.

some of THE best rides/snow ive ever had have been around -20.

been out -25 lots.

ive got a level 3, merino wool helly hansen onesie, another minor middle layer, (street clothes) then a tobe insulated mono suit. the only thing thats gets cold is my finger tips, sometimes the tip of my nose or cheeks and thats it. klim togwotee gloves, electric heated grips, and basic bark busters.

I think its important also to say where you live... im Canadian. southern AB.

I'm in northern Idaho, but a Pennsylvania native so my skin is probably a little thin. I've ridden sleds in -10 without too much trouble, but the bike stays in the shop once we get to single digits. Luckily, we don't see those temperatures around here more than a few days a year. This season we can't seem to stay below freezing for more than a few days in a row...

More than -10 and Im staying home. rode Sunday before last @ 8degrees and 25-30 mph winds it was chilly

Southern canada that would make it - 25 cellsius not so tough after all.

I'm half over weight polar bear, so cold not a problem. Around -20F i've got to be careful with face frostbite, as it doesn't feel cold, but end up getting some bite from wind chill.

Im good down to 0F if the sun is out. never gets below that in WA anyway. If it's snowing out it makes it hard

I usually check aviation wether with temp at altitude, when it gets real cold below we often get an inversion with warmer air aloft. That said if I expect colder than-20 Celsius I will take the sled. Colder than-25C Becomes more work than fun. I have enough frostbite scar's from my Youth don't need to be that tough no more.

Wuss factor Canada

Yes sir: Temps below -25 C start to create bike temp / fuelling issues. Couch looks good as temps dip to -30 and below. Depends on trail length in and depths of fresh last night?
