What Race Gas do you run?

Just got this year a RG Turbo M8. Wanted to know what everybody is running in there machine? What brand you prefer? Anybody running AV Gas? How many of you run 50/50? All in all I just want to see what every bodies opinion on what works.

VP

I will be running VP 111. Upgrading my pump gas turbo to race gas, might run 50/50 @ 10 lbs. Most of my riding is in Revy.

50/50 @ 10 lbs in revy will be hard to do IMO. you will be on the edge of det. 10 lbs i thought was the line for full race? but maybe I am wrong. I run straight vp 111 @ 13 lbs... I will be riding mostly in revy as well.

Does VP even make a 111 anymore? I would be suprised if you were not going to detonate using 50/50? race gas kind of means race gas!!!!

You are correct about running on the edge, my mistake, I will be running straight 111.

Funny, I have an email here from boondocker saying if I wanted to run pump on my RG M8 with a low boost actuator I could run 10 lbs at 6000 ft elevation on premium. I have vp111 sitting here to mix 50/50 untill I am confident that it will run on straight pump. Is that because of the extra injectors? Im not sure. With all the sensors on the motor, does it compensate for det with extra fuel?

I think people are getting away with 50/50 mix at a higher boost level because the compression is lowered by changing the "squish" on the head. I ran my sled last year at 6 pounds on premium. I will be running anywhere from 10-14 pounds on strait vp111 this year.

the knock sensor and stuff on the M8 will not compensate with more fuel when det occurs... it will just shut you down pretty much, flash a code like ecu 23 or something like that... or ecu 21, can't remember which one... you will have to shut the sled off for a few minutes and restart and you will be fine. It should technically save you... but if you are running a turbo and trying to run 10 lbs... right on that edge of straight race... do yourself a favor and just run straight race or else turn the boost down to 6 or 7 lbs and run pump. When you set the sled for "10lbs" it doens't hit 10lbs and then wastegate the rest away... it seems when I rode last yr that each pull i made my max boost was a little different each time... .1 to .2 lbs boost different give or take type thing so its not an exact setting thats for sure.

Ran 50/50 Sunoco 110 at 9 lbs last year, will run Sunoco 100 strait at 12 lbs this year.

Quite being a wuse and turn it up to 15lbs. :D
you still got that big *** 174" track on it?? should climb any thing with that track and turbo.

you can get sunoco supreme out of the pump at brico in boise for pretty cheap. that is what I ran in my supercharged gsxr 1000 this last summer. 105 motor octane for $4.75 a gallon with my nhra discount. ran strait c16 when runing the 100hp shot of nitrous with the supercharger at 12lbs of boost. :)

100% 112 sunoco and redline syn oil....1300ish miles and the pistons look new, plan to push the top end well over 2000miles

i know a guy ran 5-7psi and on a cutler kit, but thats a small compressor so using boost level as your only baseline is not optimal

id run 50/50 if i was 8ish lbs....but 12-15psi is sooooooo much more fun

dont go cheap on oil or fuel:beer;

Thanks everybody for all the info. I'm going from riding a bone stock M7 to a RGas Turbo M8. So this is all new to me. Also what should i look for on the turbo or anything else before the first ride this year? Anything specific.

im right there with ya i just picked up a rgturbo m8 yesterday and i was also wondering what you can run for fuel from about the same as revy 3-6k in wa on an 08 m8 at 10lbs right now its set at 12lbs if i turn it down do i need to reclutch not trying to hijack the thread any info would be great

I will probably be running VP 109. Thats the best race fuel for the $$ that I can find, 22usd for one gallon...
