What pressure is everyone running on their 1000 regulators?

Title says all. Just added my fuel pressure reg. 08 m1000 y pipe, bdx air intake and can thanks for any feedback.

49psi then add extra fuel on the top with the BD box.

Without a box I would be closer to 52-53 to keep the top end cool. But then it is pretty fat on the bottom end.

Are you guys running different pressures at different elevations? We have one in our group with airbox, y-pipe, can and set at 38 and it has been held wfo pulling dead sleds out for ever with no problems! I want to say he has 4000 miles on it this way.

But this sled has never left Cooke City and that starts out at 7600' to around 10k.

I'm kinda new to modding, just melted my first m1000 due to running it to lean. I have a bdx intake, y pipe, pipe, and can on it. I run it mostly at 0-3000 feet
Can I fix this problem just by adding a fuel pressure regulator or am I pretty much stuck buying an efi controller too?

You can pretty much keep it from burning down by adding fuel. Problem is your fuel curve may need to change throughout the rpm range. The fuel pressure regulator isn't going to do this. So you may need a control box to balance it out.

I've run a regulator on both an '07 and '09 M1000 at around 47 to 48 lbs pressure and seem to run good all the way from 2000' to 7500'. Bottom end may load up on you slightly so don't let it idle long. At 52 lbs. on my '09 it wouldn't even run up the trail without loading up and dieing out. I would say no more that 49 lbs should be required from my experience.

gauges can very up to 3lbs from what I've found. At 5000ft I was at 51-53psi to keep the egts below 1200 at wot,( 09 m1000 162) the sled likes to run around 1150 wot. at 47-48 psi I was getting above 1250. two years ago I let it hit 1300 and just as soon as it did it seized. Higher elevation you can get away with less. My friend has the same sled with y-pipe and can and no fuel adjustments and never had a problem. If you have a aftermarket pipe you need a fuel control box or you are loosing power. after figuring out how these sleds like to be tuned I would run a fuel controller on a stock one or any other modded one, But i'm picky.
