What map you running with the FIX KIT??

So just out of curiosity, what fuel flash are you all running with the PMS FIX KIT?? Anyone try anything other then what was recomended by PMS? I was told to have the original 2008 flash put back in and this is what i have done, but just wondering if anyone has tried diffrent flashes and what thier opinion on each flash is? Anyone find anything work better or worse?

I just bored at work and cant wait to try the FIX on the snow!!!!:deadhorse:

I only have one ride on my Fix but I have the original 2009 and I had no issues what so ever. not one stumble, bog, backfire....nothing!
Everything else is just about stock just a Skinz can and custom K&N intake (real similar to the Timbersled). No worries about airbox issues.
Can't wait for fresh snow to get more miles on it since I was pleasantly supprised how good it ran.

PMS says that if you have had the update done with the new head then you should be running the April 2010 flash.

I was told that i should be running the 2008 flash even if i had the updated head and flash??:face-icon-small-con

what do you think the pro/con to running the two diffrent flashes?

I sure dont want to burn this thing down by runnung the wrong flash!!! But at the same time I know to run the best you will always be walking on the edge of a melt down:plane:!!!

I'm currently running the Jan. 2010 flash with a PCV loaded with a map from Jim at Dynotech... Should I be heading to the dealer for the April flash?? '09 Assault with fix kit and original "updated" head. Thanks Matt

I sure wish someone out east would take a sled with "The Fix" to Dynotech. And let Jim work some magic on a map. It would also be interesting to see his numbers on his Dyno! sorry just had to chime in!

Im running the fix on an '08 with the '08 head, SLP exaust, and PC5 with the SLP map. I have the Jan. '10 map in the computer. Seem's to run good but I would love to hear from Mountain Tech as to there thoughts. And X2 on DTR getting there hands on one. I have the stoughtner map and am considering putting it in with a little more fuel to comp for the head.

The way I understand it is if you are running the 2010 head without a PCV, then you should run the April 2010 flash. If you are running the 08/09 Head or an aftermarket head, then the 08 Flash is best. In all honesty, if your sled has no stumbles or lean mid range garbles and plug reads look good and you are running a PCV, then I would run whatever map you already have without worry.

EGT's....Has anybody noticed any different characteristics of how fast their EGT's go up in the mid range and full pulls with the Fix Kit? I'm just curious if these pistons are using the fuel any different.

My sled has the 08 fuel map & 08 head, the Fix Kit and an Aaen single pipe with stock can (this produced the most hp per a dyno run).

I'm running a PCV with a custom fuel map with a little fuel added in the mid range & a little fuel taken out on the top end.

Don't have enough time on it this season to say how much better it runs with the 08 map & head but it is running really good so far.

Just to keep the confusion down: There was no update to the flash in '08 in fact (verified by Digital Wrench) the original '09 flash is the same part number as the '08.

Good to know. But a bit of a twist is that my '08 machine ran very poorly all that season with the original '08 flash. It was not until my dealer put the '09 flash in that it then ran flawlessly. Were they the same? Anyway, this past weekend it lost the VR on my '09 RMK with @85 miles on the "Fix". Shop suggested that I replace the ECU at the same time. I will get them to load the original '09 flash into it and see how it performs with the PCV.

Have them run a "Service Report" and get a copy when your there.. It will list the part number of your flash. Then we'll know what you have.

So if I have the Jan. 2010 flash at the moment and run autotune... there's no need to go get flashed with the April. 2010 flash? Thanks Matt

Here’s how this works… If your running “Auto Tune” you shouldn’t worry about what map you have because auto tune will adjust lean/rich spots according to the AFR. Now if your wanting a different map because of timing changes or knock sensor adjustments (sorry, I can’t help you here) then I’d be looking at the different maps.

so do we have a winner on choice of flash/map for 2009 D8 with updated head (the one that was installed in 2010 with the new pistons by Polaris), FIX KIT, and SLP pipe can and Y pipe??

I put some miles on the Dyno Tech SLP map and I feel it was to rich in the mid-range. I also have the SLP 13.2-1 head.
I'm going to put some miles on the SLP 70-216A with some added fuel in the mid-range. It will be about 2/3 of the Dyno Tech Map in the mid-range. I have the orginal update flash I think its call the Jan/2010 map.
IMO the auto is not worth it unless you spend allot of time with it. I think it would work best in the shop with a Dyno machine hooked up.
