What Klim Bibs for snowbiking?

Thanks for all the input, I just ordered a pair of klim klimate bibs. I will be wrapping the header so I don't burn them. Hopefully they will turn out nice

Klim Traverse pants are the way to go. Have used them in -26 degrees Celcius when riding with only a baselayer and knee protectors (Thor Force). Superb with leather on inside of both pants and the 4 vents that can be opened up for cooling. Superhappy with them together with my Klim Tomahawk jacket!

I was afraid of getting powder inside my back and up my legs, but the pants I close real tight against my Klim Adrenaline GTX boots and no snow in there. Same with waist, where the Anti Snow closure on the jacket stops all snow from getting in.

Truly super happy with them!

Under the Tomahawk jacket I only use a base layer and my protection jacket Alpinestars and a college shirt over. Works great down to -26 degrees celcius and the vents are worth A LOT on the jacket too, when one works up the temp when riding hard.

Decided on the Togwotee bib and Valdez jacket. Got two pairs of gloves (1 warm, 1 technical), a mid-layer jacket, socks, and Adrenaline boots all for $1500, taxes in. They gave me 15% off retail because I bought so much stuff. Lol

Seat issues

I am on my 3rd season of Snowbikes and have had problems with the goretex failing in the seat of bibs. I was talking to Klim about it and we agreed that the seats on the bikes are very aggressive and wear out the water proofing fast. I have had 3 pair fail and got them warranted by both Klim and Motofist. I switched to a Fisher Seat which is smooth and I think the problem is solved.

Is there anymore input on the best pants of bibs for snowbiking?

My Freeride pants are back at Klim with the pipe holes melted in them. I can pay $230 to have them fixed or buy a new pair of pants or bibs.

They have been kind enough to offer a discount on a replacement pair of pants or bibs.

I just read through this thread trying to find out what the best pant or bib is for snowbiking and I really didn't come up with any conclusive winner or a favorite.

Klim suggested the Extreme Bib. I told them I would do some research and get back to them.

Is there any new news on this front?

U can ask Klim to sew on a leather patch on the inside just like on the Traverse pants while they are repairing them. A friend of mine has another brand of pants and when he burned a hole in them and sent them in they put on a leather patch on the inside while they were repairing them.

Klim really only need to put on a snow protection around the boots on the Traverse pant and then we got a superb pant. I ride in Traverse pants anyway and just love them. Only thing is that I need to wrap them tight around the boot to keep snow from coming in.

The lack of a gator is also the only thing that kept me from buying them. I mean, you can buy hiking style gators and all, but that's just so ghetto!

new goretex

my older two pairs of klim pants that seem perfectly ok standing up and riding my snowmobile all day absolutely don't cut it on the bike, sitting on a changing blizzard of fresh snow .

Had a seldom used pair of free ride KLIM's....dri butt now, fresh goretex equals dri butt. All good, funky looking for old guy, should last a year, then I'll have to buy another pair of gore in the butt pants that's not gore fatigued.

It was down to the Traverse and Overland pants for me.

The traverse are an older design and cheaper so, I was going to go with them but, I wanted to wait and see what you guys said to make sure.

Moose Racing Monarch Pass Bibs look pretty good. I picked up a set and I will report back.

Those actually look awesome. Wish I had of known about these before I dumped all my money on Klim gear. My ONLY concern would be breathability but I suspect they will be on in that regard. What is the material? Doesn't sound like gortex...

Edit: Saw on another website that its eVent material, which I believe is the same as motorfist so should be decent quality. If so, the Klim Togwotee bib and Valdez jacket would be overall heavier/stronger material but wouldn't much matter with all the protection on those Moose pants.

I bought a pair of Moose Racing Monarch Pass riding pants on clearance on E-bay for $106.00 with free shipping to give a try to something other than the $300+ Klim pants.

I got the Moose Monarch pants in the mail last evening and they look and fit nice but, they say they have a built in gaiter to keep out mud and dirt. They do NOT have gaiters inside each pants leg. So, I went back on E-bay and for $8.99 with free shipping, I ordered some elastic gaiters. I plan to be nice to my mother in-law and see if she will sew them inside each pants leg to keep the snow out of my boots.

Interestingly, the pants have leather on the inside of the legs, or should I say one side (must be the pipe side). I will give them a try and report on how they work.

On another note, I went on to E-bay again and found Gortex stick on patch kits. I purchased three kits and repaired my Klim Freeride pants. The glue is heat activated, so once I stuck the patches on, I threw the pants in the dryer for 30 minutes. I do expect the patches to last forever but, for less than $20 (for three patch kits) I will give them a try.

You must have the old style, I have the same pants and they have gaiters in both legs and leather on the insides of both legs.

That sucks I was leaning that way. Not even 1/2 season on motofist and get wet *** not to mention seams coming un sewn!!

Hard to find durable snowbike clothing that keeps u dry!
