what kind of pants and jacket do you guys wear?

It's been a few years now, but I bought my gear at buyklim.com They had discontinued colors at a pretty big discount. worth a look. Top quality gear for low end price if you don't mind not having the latest styles.

I wear a CastleX jacket and Scott Pants/Bibs. I paid $100 shipped for the like new jacket with matching gloves from a guy off here, and $50 shipped for the brand new pants off eBay. I do wear Klim boots ($140) and socks($20) though.

I know it's hard dropping the dough on klim, but you get what you pay for. I bought what I absolutely needed the first year, then added more hear and there.

I have the valdez jacekt and extreme pants...light weight and not bulky!

Buy TOBE, I have had Klim and TOBE and like the TOBE way better. Same weather control properties, but TOBE has way more inovative features such as the I-pod controls and Do Rock helmet. Check them out www.tobetechnology.com

I clicked on the link but they are having issues with the website, so coulnd't confirm if they do use Gortex and Kevlar like Klim does. Couldn't find anything on Tobe's warranty policy either. Klim has a great warranty, and they are easy to get ahold of.

Clicked on the contact link, and has info. for sweden? Are they a U.S. company?

I believe Klim is based in ID. You pick'n up what I'm throwing down?

I bought a set or Reima's a few years back before they turned to Scott and I still have the jacket and bibs and they are holding up like they are brand new.

I've never gotten the chance to try the Klims and my Reima's just won't die!

I am looking at some pants and a new jacket but i want them to be light weight and not all bulky and for a resonible price to..any ideas?

I have over the years tired everything form OEM stuff to Reima, to Columbia (long time ago) to now 100% Klim gear. It's that good and you won't be worried about buying it every few years, it lasts, it's quality, it's a bit spendier then most but when you compare cost to how long it lasts to it's reputation and so on you owe it to yourself to buy Klim gear.

As for the underneath stuff it's not that brand names are needed just as long as you stay away from the "death fabric" (cotton)

If price is a concern go with HMK stuff. Good stuff for a good price.
I have the ToBe pants and love them, don't look like everyother Joe out there that wears Klim and I plan on getting the HMK pullover.

There's some really good deals on ebay for last years ToBe stuff right now.

You should buy Klim so you can get the fancy Gor Tex. The tree huggers will thank you for your support. Look up Gore Tex and find out where their loyalties are. It sure isn't the snowmobiling community. TOBE's insulation properties are as good or better than Klims. I don't care what you buy, but buy something that actually supports the sport we all love. Focker out.

Yes, TOBE is based in Sweden, but the North American distributor is in Idaho Falls. When you open their website you have to click on the north american link on the left side (has an American flag next to it). I have never had any warranty issues with any of TOBE's products, but I am confident that they would take care of any warranty issues that present themselves. They do not use Gore-Tex but do use a breathable membrane that I believe is just as good. I have had nothing but good to say about my TOBE gear, that being said I also liked my Klim gear, Klim is just a little more expensive and their clothes are a little boring for me. Hope this helps.
