What is this? IT'S IN MY WAY!!

Anyone know what this is? I'm assuming it's the altitude censer or something? It's just under where the harness plugs into the gauge. Has one brown and one white wire coming to it. AND IT'S IN MY WAY! I am "trying" to relocate my gaude with the timbersled bracket but there is no way that thing will work. It mounts WAY to low. My steering post is to short or something. But anyway, If I want to get it to at least almost fit them this thing has to go, so something. What is it? Can I just cut it off? I was hoping both wires would be coming from the bottom, but one comes to it, and the other goes to the gauge. So it's either cut it off, or extend the wires which I'm not in the mood to do. I'm thinking this timbersled rig is going on the shelf and I'll have to get something custom made. But even still this thing is in the way.

Dang it. Now what? I guess a guy can always extend wires and move it down the line someplace. Cause it can't stay where it is. No way. How about the stock head lights plug ins and that other massive plug? Really they all need to go. But I don't want to chop up my whole harness....

Edit, Going with after market lights so the stock head light plugs could maybe go. What do you think? Stupid idea?

most guys just zip tie it to the wiring harness...it will bend pretty well then zip tie it to the wires coming off the gauge...

or you could extend the wiring on it, and velcro it under the center console if need be..

Thank you sir. :) I was going to ask you about it yet. What about your head light plug ins, what did you do with those?

If anybody needs a timbersled gauge bracket mines forsale! $20. It's totally useless to me. There's no way I can use it. Getting a custom one made that will bring my gauge up about 2.5 inches.

i am running the boondocker 100W resistor on my 900...i plugged the resistor wire into the yellow wire on the light harness and tucked the harness under the console..

on my 06 900 i am running the SKINZ mesh hood, with trail tech lights...i will most likely just cut the stock light harness and extend it to my needs...if you make it nice, it can easily be put to stock ;)

hope all is well with your build bro...

Right yeah. I can't tuck mine away anywhere, wires are not long enough to reach under the console. But I also ordered trail tech lights for mine, so I'll have to extend the wires too I guess. Not much other choice. I just hate working with anything wiring related!

Thanks it's coming along. I made one own gauge bracket, so that's done, just need to figure out the wiring side of things, lights and tether are ordered, track should be here next week. So other than the skinz air frame boards everything is either done or on it's way. Once I get my track it'll start looking like a sled again.

Never mind my previous comment about the head lights wires not being long enough. They are, just have to do it right. :)

But I have another question. What is this plug for? I don't remember it from when I took everything apart? What's it for? Cause it either has to go or be extended down. Cause it can't stay up top about the dash. Best would be if I could just eliminate it all together.

that harness plug if for a relay to plug into for the center projector beam light...dont cut it up...your headlights are tapped into that...

:frusty: Great. What did you do with yours? I hadn't noticed that yours was still hanging above your console? It's a huge beast to just have hanging there is the open. Looks messy and just sloppy to have it hang there.
