What is the most innovative sled for it's time?

Of all the years we've had snowmobiles, which sled stuck out to you as the most innovative?

personally the 2003 rev sticks out to me as totally out of the ordinary. In fact when I first seen it, i didn't think ski-doo was serious as the sled itself looked nothing in comparison to the snowmobiles of its time. What do you guys think?

2008 m1000!!!

The 08,09 M1000 Sno Pro...has gotta be pretty mentionable cause it'll highmark any sled out there stock for stock no matter what year, brand, etc...
2nd place goes to phazer for sure...Thats what I learned to love snowmobiling on!!!
3rd ya gotta give to yamaha for the apex...Four stroke streetbike motor in a sled...Great idea, just still a little fat (heavy) for me....

Forgot all about Redline. I was pumped for them in sixth grade. It's too bad they never got off the ground, woulda been a helluva ride to pull up to your friends with.

The Redline never made it to production though.....50 sleds doesn't really count. But definately in the top ten.

I'll put my two cents in for the Fast Blade.
Delta Perimeter Frame
Gear to Gear Driveline
First to actually design a sled with mass centralization as it's focus.
When calibrated, the best handling sled period.

Phazer, El Tigre, Karpik Special, Redline, SnoJet, Allouette. The list can go on and on with the break-throughs of the ages.

I believe the sleds of today owe a lot to Fast. Still haven't ridden a "stock" modern machine that will give the Blade a run for it's money for ride and handling.

How about the Polaris Indy with the IFS.

How about the one that built a big enough gas tank that kepts the carb from spitting gasoline all over your crotch while you rode?
