What is the best turbo control box

I second that. He is one of a few vendors that are honest, and working to build better products, also side note Seth from trail tanks is a very honest trusting guy from my past dealings. Keep up the good work guys.

Rapid Bike 3 EFI / Turbo kits

When buying a turbo kit I would advise understanding a little on how turbos work and doing some homework on different kits out there.
Yes I a little one sided!
1-Does the kits come complete?
2-kit come with Compression ratio adjustment? Head Spacer!
3-Cam timing & Valve settings? Cam timing jig or specs?
4-Proper Blowoff Valve? One designed big enough and open at idle vaccum so turbo is spooling at idle!? No blowoff valve is like stalling turbo and stuffing a potato up your pipe!!
5-Stacks in airbox and in proper size airbox within center so it draws air in like stock motor. No stacks no HP or flow!!
6-EFI setup proper with timing control ? Pay attention to this little bit of info.
Throttle response is all about cylinder pressure! No need for high compression or pulling head spacer if you have timing control!
Apex motor MAKES MORE HP AT -3 degrees at 13 psi boost!
Adding Timing in bottom end with lower compression ratio gives same throttle response as high compression motor and will make more power with lower boost.
So add 4 to 6 degrees at clutch engagement and see what happens!!
Drag race response on Nytro at 3000 RPM !!!

EFI control box ?? Yes we at PowderLites have learned that getting power from injectors is just crazy compared to having Rapid Bike 3 with power from Battery.
Low voltage like 12 volts with Dobeck won't hardly run and no throttle response as well.
Proper mapping with timing makes a good turbo kit even better.
Double down pipe, Ported waste gate, Devorced and the right turbo with right housings and everything in balance or done right makes it all work.

Header?? Well Ted take her easy here and log style header just don't work from what I have tried years ago. Firing order and how header flow enters into turbo are tricky subject and designs for these motors.
I think it is time to redesign complete kit for race guys that will be killer for throttle response and power.
Ted your race kit header is closer to making good power.
Dave ( Hurricane ) your header which not too many know how it is built does make big HP.
Powder Lites new stage 1 Apex just got off the dyno in this hot weather and on a few cooler pulls makes 298 HP at 13 psi boost !
Pump gas and I have heard back that Apex HP kit with machined intake plus a few other tricks is on GT2871 is just sick for power even at only 18 psi boost.
Turbo cams, added to these kits with Rapid bike EFI will set the mark for turbo companies to compare too.
Make it right the first time and even then next year improve it all over again.
Improvement in my life is what makes me tick!
Competition is the best tool and having fun making them wonder where the hell did he come from!
Thanks to everyone that gives me feedback over the years and keeps asking for more performance out of there sleds.
I love the challange to make it better then the next guy.

Dave ,do you ever sleep?

That's what I was thinking. LOL

Dave
I got my sled back together with the ported waste gate and double down pipe and rode it last weekend. Holy $hit what a difference. The throttle response is right there and the top end power is amazing. I'm sure it added 30 horse over the single down. I never would have thought such a simple change could make such a difference. Thanks a bunch.

Changed my 2871 alpine kit to Daves new down pipe last year , big improvement , installed a 3 inch down pipe this year , made last years improvement look small.

3" divorced or not?

Gunner is your 3" divorced or just a single 3" pipe? I am thinking about running a 3" right out the side panel.... Should be just enough room for the O2 sensor.

Wes

His is not, not necessary.

Hi Wes , it is one single 3 " , still dumps in the tunnel.

dave you need a front mount for the nytro to keep the front mount guys happy.

FX Nytro turbo

One ride on our kit and you might change your mind about having to be front mount.
Drag raced it at West yellow stone and I was the only sled to blow the backstop back and a few people were running for cover at 3000 RPM enagement.
Most of our design of this kit was to get the most out of it right the frist time.
Hope to get video of our stuff at Big Dawg Shootout
