What is the best oil? I been told to run nothing other then skidoo XPS. Can I run amsoil or that a bad idea?

i use the skidoo oil.. then no difficulties with warrenty and stuff... but ive had no trouble with it.. well my 2 cents....

I have ran Amsoil and the ski-doo XPS, both similar in price. I stuck with Amsoil last to seasons with no problems

the yellow jug is fully synthetic and black jug is semi- synthetic... either is okay to run but i perfer fully...

I heard to run semi-syn. over synthetic. It supposedly burns thru the synthetic quicker.

I was told by the local BRP rep too run the Semi-Syn XPS, over the full Syn. Apparently the full Syn is bad for gumming up the Raves and leaving more deposits in the engine than the Semi. I ran Amsoil Dominator and Interceptor in my Rev(with Nitrous) since new, and at rebuild time the motor looked MINT inside. I was REALLY impressed at how clean and how good of shape it was inside. The cross-hatch was still on the Cyl walls, and the pistons looked like they were just broken in.

My Vote is for XPS Semi-Syn or Amsoil

I have been running Ski-Doo oil since 1992, and four of those engines had over 8000 miles on them when I sold them, without an oil related problem. My friends have ran other brands and a couple of them lost a bearing after 3-5 years of running. That is not to say some of the other brands do not work as well, I am sure they do, but I have too much positive experience with Ski-Doo to consider anything else. Hard to argue with that many miles and never sticking a RAVE valve or loosing a bearing. :beer;

I have ran the Ski-Doo XPS semi synthetic (black jug) on my 08 XP since new. No problems(2000 miles) and my dealer sell a case for $90.

AMSOIL Dominator

AMSOIL Dominator Synthetic 2 cycle oil is designed for racing and on the edge operation. I have used it on my last 4 sleds. Pricing is comparable with the other good synthetics. I recommend it to all of my customers that run the bigger mountain sleds.
