I was thinking about getting a set of mics for a freind and i to communicate back and forth on our sleds any advice on what to get? Never been around any or used any before so im kinda dumb about them thanks for the info

Not so much the mic as the radio itself. I ride with a big scary radio... way more than anyone really needs out there. I got a speaker-mic for it that lives on the shoulder of my pack, radio clips on the outside. A little hard to copy when the sled's running, but when that's quiet it's a good setup. Don't have to take my helmet off to use it either.

I believe most FRS radios have a connector for a speaker-mic, the generic ones are two connectors; one regular-size headphone jack and a slightly smaller one for PTT/mic spaced about 1cm apart.

Can also get helmet radio kits... they're a bit $ but they isolate the sound a lot better. I'm thinking about doing one but it's gotta interface to a VS connector.
