kinda thought everyone knew that baby carrots were cut down, big carrots.

I never really thought about a carrot cutting machine that would round them down and make look the way they do..

I always thought they were bred down miniatures, they don't have the same size 'rings' when you bite thru them, and they are always sweeter.

Large carrots always have large growth rings, and a bigger yellow center core.

Same here, shape kind of gave them away. A Carrot is a root, which means if they were really baby carrots they should look like a small root.
