I have been in the market for a new sled. I have been loyal to Skidoo, but wanted to see what else is out there. I have a dealer offering a 09 600 144 Shift for 6K + taxes. What do you think.....should I get it? Would I be happy with this sled? Am I going to have any problems with it? Any opinion are apprecitaed. Thanks. Pray for snow!!!!:)

What are you riding currently? (for comparisons) How is the Polaris dealer?
The 600 has been bulletproof. It has been troublefree. They run good and are easy to handle, but if you are looking for 800 power you should buy an 800. Or big bore it. The 660 runs very well also.

Currently dont have a ride. Sold my 04 Skidoo two years ago. I am not the biggest guy around so I never had a problem with my 600 before. Went everywhere my buds did on their 800's. I have heard the Polaris 600 is better than the Doo 600. This true?

That I couldn't tell you, I have never rode the doo. I have rode the 600 rmk, and it runs very well. The only time you could tell a difference in the power between the 800, was in the very steep and deep climbs. You just worked a little harder.

yep, and if you need a little more power, big bores do wonders on the 600s. Ask around, there are a few guys on here who swear by big bores on their 600.

My riding buddy has one, same track length. He's 6'1' and weighs around 160 and goes everywhere with it! It rips and handles like a dream!! We ride 800 163"s and he is never far behind. Excellent sled.

Well, I guess Ill have to hit the dealer this week then. It really is my first choice in a sled. I like the doos, but they want too much for them now. I am about the same size as your buddy so if he does it, I can too. Thanks

You will not be disappointed in it, I own 2 of them. Better go to the dealer and reserve it before someone else snatches it out from under you. $6k+ is an awesome price, couple grand below MSRP.

I know. the dealer told me its been sitting on the showroom and they just want to get rid of it. It might be worth the 2 1/2 hour drive there.

I cant really find any info on the dealer. They are about 2 1/2 hours drive from me, so I don't know them. They are the only one around that has this sled and the price Im looking for. Does anyone know if theres a dealers rating/review web page?

600 = fun

I have a 07 700 Dragon that I paid full price for and a 600 144" with carbs that I got in 08 for cheap as that dealer also just wanted it gone. The best mod that I could have ever done to the 700 was buying that 600 to keep it company. It could use a better track and shinier shocks but it is an awesome machine as is. Now if you want a high altitude, go straight up the mountain and scare the crap out of yourself sled buy an 800 or an XP or an M1000. But if you want to have cheap fun buy the 600. I was going to sell it to buy a turbo for the 700 but when push came to shove I just couldn't.

I actually went and got it last weekend. :D We have no snow here so it will be awhile before I can go out and play. I really like the sled and am happy that I got it. I think it will do everything that I need it too.

I will be taking it to one of the best Polaris dealers in my area for any work. My friend has been dealing with them for many years now and swears by them. They are alittle bit more money, but worth it. They are Tri City Polaris. I just want it to snow so I can get on and RIDE! Its killing me to just see it in the garage and can't do a thing with it. I am very excited about it as you can see. I am glad that I didn't go with the "other" guys. I think this will be the best year of sledding for me. I know I can only go up from here. :beer;

Glad you like it so far, you'll be surprised when you ride it. TCP is awesome. Pray for snow, enjoy.
