What do you think of my home made vent?

Go back and read the entire thread.;)

Alright, I did and I'm a meathead, my bad and my apologies. I got kinda sensitive cuz I'm one of those bone heads that pays too much for all the bling $hit. NOW on to more important questions. Are you using CNC, water or plasma? I ask because I have plasma (Thermal Dynamics 51) but I'm pretty green with it. Can I make these cuts? What material would I use, 6061. SLPs stuff seems fairly soft/pliable. Any hints I'd gladly take.

Seriosly

You should go into business making these vents. Even if just for the Edge Chassis. Very nice looking design. Didn't read the whole thread, but I would assume those are water-proof. Let me know if you build some for the IQ Chassis.

Why not just buy them from R and M Lightning or 2Cool Vents. Although, for a little more money the R and M product is a lot better than that available from 2Cool in my opinion. Check them out at www.randmlightning.com

Honestly it looks like someone made it in there garage (with the lights out)

Well, I did make them in my garage with a jig saw, no fancy plasma, or cnc machine here. I would love to have unlimited funds as some of you on here have, but I am just trying to make my 5 year OLD sled pull some taller gearing without the heat. This is what I can afford, and am not going to try to manufacture them. flame on!

PS. even though it looks like the lights were out when I made them. I can assure you that they were on.

Dude if you take those things off I will send you a free set of Edge side vents. And as far as my sandcars go they are the worst built POS around, take a look in person and you will agree;):D

If TravRMK doesnt want them then sure (provided you have an Edge). Just remember he invited opinions, I just tell it like it is.

PMed you Snowstar. I asked for honest opinions, whether good or bad.

Trav,

Here's my honest opinion.....I think they look great. I'm pretty much a do it yourselfer too. The big thing is (at least for me) is what I (you) think of 'em.

Let us know what you think of the pet screen after some hard research......ok?

Again, looks great. Bagger

i agree with buddy, im the same way, if i dont have to spend the money and figure out how to build all my own chit then do it even if it doesnt work out cheaper at least its your own, but how do they work, do they work for you, other then that i wouldnt care, they work or they dont but still looks good i was thinking of doing something like that but with they nylon stuff that lets in air and keeps out snow. great work

would love to hear how the pet screen works at keeping snow out or any other material people have used to successfuly build thier own. have a jig saw, rivets and aluminum. just need to find a material!

2 things i would suggest.

black rivets- www.performancebodies.com

and a second set of hoods straps to protect that nice hood www.firstplaceparts.com

really good job my brother made his own with pet screen he also is taking prefilter material and putting it between the pet screen and belly pan, if you said you would have bought from a professional i think everyone would have believed you

Here are some pics of Snowstars vents. They look and work great. BTW the pet screen works great also.
