Nice to meet ya..

Nice to meet you as well.

My reason is here in WY where I live land developers are putting in housing developments in the stupidest places. One is at a place where there is no good water out on the plains where the wind blows 80 MPH on a constant basis in the winter time. Another is up on a mountain side where no one should even attempt to put a house. It is all done for the almighty dollar and everytime I see these developments it makes me sick to my stomach.

ArcticBoy is right, you can include the greedy landowners that sold their land in order to let that happen.

All of what everyone said:beer; Yammadog-good call on the ludafisk; that chit is absolutely horrible! The environmentalists really chap my a$$. Judge Molloy is a huge piece of chit:eek:

ATV's blazing new trails into what used to be fabulous deer habitat, easily reached by foot!!

Preacher's on the mountain!!

I almost forgot, my biggest dislike of all would have to be "Wilderness Areas" unfortunately "Sierra Harry" will now have free reign to impose them anywhere and everywhere he desires.

slow drivers

I hear you there. Poeple who drive in the passing lane under the speed limit.
Wish I had a rocket launcher mounted up front on my vehicle

Also, people who stop with the nose of their car sticking out of the intersection. Like don't they teach these kids that if there is no painted line to stop at an intersection that you are supposed to stop with the front of your car even or behind where the stop sign is ?

I hate ignorant people talking on cell phones while driving.... That should be illegal. I feel they are worse of a hazzard than drunk drivers

Sako;
Not being hypocritical in the least. Those who lump ATV's and sleds together need to educate themselves to the fact that they are unrelated, let me explain. I have an area I deer hunt regularly with excellent results, it is non-wilderness and only accessible by foot (approximately a 2.5 mile relatively moderate hike). The 4 wheelers and side by sides over the past several years have almost cut into the heart of what was once an undisturbed, yet easily accessible pocket of pristine mule deer habitat. The area now contains a very low population of deer. This is an area of high elevation the deer move out of in the winter. Once the deer migrate south, it makes for excellent snowmobiling terrain. I don't understand how anyone could twist my comments and make them appear hypocritical? Wilderness areas are generally land of no use, to far to access on foot and off limits to snowmobiles. Again, no hypocracy what so ever in my statements. My "Preacher on the mountain comment" relates to the forest service personnel explaining to us that we can't ride the SACRED snow in the wilderness on the other other side of the pass.:confused:

The hypocracy I was seeing in your statement you addressed. If your "preaching" about ATV's being in your hunting area that you dont want there, I seen you as a "Preacher on the mountain". I agree that it sucks to see good hunting areas deplete for any reason. Be it oil drilling, ATV use, housing developments, CEO's needing a new lodge on the mountain, whatever. I used to hunt exclusively on horse back. Had great sucess doing so. Now do to injuries my father has we are no longer to do so. So we have had to start hunting via ATV. Thing is we hunt a area where there are ALOT of existing roads and thats what we use. We are actually getting bigger elk and seeing more deer in this area than where we hunted with horses. I beleive that ATV's do have an effect but I also have seen that the animals are still there, you just have to learn to hunt in a way to use those on ATV's to your advantage. Look for routes that the animals use to get away from the ATV's and traffic. Set up there. In otherwords, do more glassing with high quality optics and less walking and be patient, you will see more game than you ever thought was there. Now please, I am not saying your area is not the way your saying it is and the population isnt down. I am just saying what I have seen in the areas I hunt and mearly making a suggestion on ways to help your hunting sucess.

Second I viewed your statement about not making more wilderness areas so you have access hypocritical in the way that you want to make areas not accessable to ATV's. Well if you restrict access then you might as well have wilderness area as its the same thing. Now that I see you were refering to sleds only, that I can see.

Thank you for the adult reply and explination and hopefully after seeing mine you can see where I was coming from.
