What do you miss about old sleding movies?

Is there anything you miss about sleding movies?

For myself, i miss the crazy stupid antics, humor, and randomness of the early alticity, and 2scs movies. We are going to film a short 30-45 min film this year and we just want to know what people want to see.

We got the random, deep pow, insain turraine, good filming, good taste of music, but none of us are throwing down 100ft backflips or climbing **** with helicopters.

Obviously, the riding is what keeps us watching, but is there anything that helps you stay in your seat?

very true... the awsome videography is cool, but the antics really make it seem like your out riding with the group, not just watching them.... adds to the feal of the video, we watch it because we want to be out there with them slaying the fresh snow, and the silly comentary makes it like your part of the crew out there.

i miss the crashes.

seems like with the new sleds and suspension technology everything they hit they are landing.

which is still amazing but once in a while i like to see a good tumble!!

like the last slednecks 11 from the 5-9 slednecks there are no good spills anymore.

I miss the simplicity of the older vids.

I don't care for the $35,000(or whatever) sleds. I like to see more on the "normal" sleds (not the full out mods, just something that a average person would ride) Watching the guys try to do climbs, having to work to get up the chutes. Instead of blowing over the top of everything they come across

I don't care for the guys that pay more attention to the camera, that where there driving. Or the planned climbs.

Just guys out having fun, and the camera is just something that is there.

I think the problem is that the riders and people making the movie look at as they need to build a certain amount of jumps to get the young audience, some climbs for the older guys, and some hot chicks for everyone, instead of having fun and filming it.

I my self, want to see custom sleds, not $30,000 bling sleds, but home made sleds that are rode by people who are never going to be chris berandt status in the sleding world, just people out having fun. I think my old man said it best when I was giving him a hard time about his 96 600 XLT. He said, I don’t care about having the highest mark on the hill, or the nicest looking sled; I sled because I enjoy the challenge, the people, and nature.

For me, the greatest days of my life are going up in my local mountains and throwing down my best moves when its me vs the pow. I enjoyed the older movies because they made you part of the experience, now everyone who's making movies just wants free **** and to get laid. Am I wrong?

LOL I OWN U that sounds like something my old man would say....Being 25 yrs old I am caught in the middle of what you guys like and what the young punks like. With that being said I think we can all agree that it takes more skill to boondock and hill climb then to jump like in the older alticity movies. I think that snowmobiling is becoming like motocross its all bout who has the most $$$$ to show boat and be a rockstar. I wish someone would come out with a sled movie that has a little of everything from all the sled dvd companys that would be awsome. Just my opinion.

That would be the ROOPS series imo. They do a good job of balancing it out like a normal mtn rider would. This is going to make my age show, but I am getting tired of all the vandalizium and destruction on alot of the sled vids these days. Shooting road signs, blowing stuff up (public property) drinking and driving in the trucks, ect... Ya we were all young and dumb once upon a time, but never dumb enough to make a movie out of it for all to see and put a black flag across the face of our sport for those who happen to see one of these vids that aren't die hard riders. Now, back off the soap box and may it start snowing early this fall!

When i watch a movie, i look for humor, and originality like having 4people standing on one sled doing a huuge wheelie or finding a big wood post and making a snowman out of it with bewbs n such(i did that once good times...) things that will set it apart. Also, i would like to see people on semi normal sleds, you know, ones with less than 600hp.

Final thing, get some babes out thar and race some dudes

Ahh yes, the infamous one-peice Carhart suit. It doesn't get any better than that. My 96 XLT was a ripper too (for the first 600 miles on PSI triples, then blew the fluck up!!!) I agree, the nastalgic aspect of snowmobiling. There are countless memories of our riding group passing around the flask or bottle of someone's latest concoction( Mike McKenzie's famous "Mountain Mist" which included about 4 shots of Canadian Mist in a 20 oz. bottle of mountain dew, good stuff) Being from a small valley of around 10,000 people, it was "tell all" of who had slept with this crazy brod or that skanky hooker. Again, McKenzie was tops in this category too. It always seems like there is one guy who has his hood up cussing his POS sled that just got spanked by the 3 years previous model of a different brand ( Mike Shetler, and myself last year) One of my favorite things to do is welcome in the new young kid. At 29 years now, it wasn't too long ago, at the ripe age of 13, I was invited to go with the "Big Boys" on there bada$$ 580 Powder Specials for the first time. The scared the Holy Hell out of me. For the next 4 or 5 years, I went with them almost every ride almost as equally scared as the first time. Over time I began to realize "hey Im kindof a badass now". At 19, I was quickly humbled by the old leader of the group when he lit me up for leaving the group on the other side of the mountain. I could go on and on but my point is, yes, it would be really cool to have a video of the conversations at resting stops because that is when the bonding and friendship is happening. I think that everyone could relate at some point or another. :beer;:)
