Does anybody know what the real world sled weights were on the 05 and 06 900's say 159" or 166" tracks???? Not the published weights but the real world weights before the stripping of stuff? For some reason 525lbs sticks out but I can't remember.

Anybody weigh their sleds lately to see what the difference is?

Dave.. I put my non snow check 2005 159, bone stock, on race scales... no gas, maybe a cup of oil... 537 lbs... the snowcheck track is heavier, but the shocks are lighter, so it is probably a wash.

I hope to knock about 100 lbs off that for my 900 build this year.

The 2006's have a shorter/ligher chaincase, lighter spindles, and drive shaft but more injectors ... the weight would be within 5 lbs in reality of the 2005 wieght.

Cool... for some reason I was thinking it was 550 dry for the 166... but if your saying 537 dry that's even better:face-icon-small-hap... seeing as I have taken 37lbs off my sled:D:D

OMG...cant wait to see the details on that for sure...and follow your lead on some of it.

i have a buddy that is kicking the idea of a custom made lightweight jackshaft and some chromoly parts that should help out here and there...but ill let him talk about that stuff when he gets to it, and show his progress ;)

i will weigh mine for sure, as dry as possible when i am finished..hoping for 490ish..MAX..but both my 900s are 166" track :face-icon-small-ton

My 05 900 with a 166 is 578 pounds ready to ride full of fuel. It has SPL pipe and can, SLP Rad delete, SLP vent kit, and Fire and Ice intake. Every thing else is stock.

Full of gas?

Hmmm... well the '05 900 166 snowcheck I weighed on my digital scale was 562 wet with no gas. All fluids topped off, extra belt and 2 extra plugs.

I don't know what pulling pieces off will do for saving weight, but that muffler on the things had to weigh a BUNCH.

Polaris's published weight for a 06 900 RMK 159" track was 539 dry.
So that must have been close.

If that's close to correct, I'm happy then. With all the weight reduction work I've done to my '06, it should be around 470 dry. Not that the exact weight really matters though. All I know is, it's a lot more fun to ride now than stock.

I'll second that, way more fun now than stock. Wish I had a scale to weigh it though just for curiosity. I has all the fluids filled though so wouldn't be a good comparison to stock dry weight.
