What can are you running on your 09 M1000..and why?

I found lots of info for the 2009 M8 but have not seen much about this topic for the 2009 M1000....Enought about Jr. lets talk about BIG BROTHER...What works the best, weights the least, and fits the best on a basically stock machine?

I installed a SLP can on my 09' M1000 Sno-Pro le mainly for what track record SLP has. SLP may not be the lightest or most h.p. making, but usually fit and finish and quality, you cannot go wrong. I do like that if I was to decide to go with a complete SLP exhaust system, all I would have to add would be the y-pipe and pipe since I already have the canister, I rode my sled for the first time yesterday, so I cannot give you results on how it really performs on the hill. It does have a great tone to it though, not that annoying ear piercing deafing tone like some sleds have........pretty much it so far.

P.P.

speedwerx tunnel dump. m1000 is a legend for the powder bog and this can is suppose to eliminate the exhaust cap off issue. i ran the mbrp last year. light and really loud, but cloggs up just like stock. This is why i switched this year to the tunnel dump

For what it's worth on an 07 I run the HPS and absolutely love it. It is the lightest on the market and gives a little extra power. I think I've read it's 2-3 hp gain, which is about as good as you can really get from a can. Fit is good, but not great, and if sound is a factor it basically sounds stock at low RPM then when your PV's open up it sounds amazing.

I ride with two M1s. (08 and an 09) both guys run the D&D Big Barker. They sounds wicked and they run them because, they have used D&D pipes/cans in the past on other sleds and they (d&d) is based in NY and the elevation is almost the same as AK..

havent had any issues.. this will be the third year that they will be running the cans. Also they have the y-pipe from d&d.

I know of 6 running slp on the 09, works awesome. I feel its the best to maintain the torque. Never had a bog problem with exhaust, just intake.

m1000

i am running a slp cold air intake, slp y-pipe, pipe and can. also a power commander fuel controler!! the set up is awesome, plug in and go!! ride from5500 feet to 10000. would recommend it to anyone!!!!!!!!!!

I am currently running same setup but with BD controller. I am thinking of switching to the PC3, how happy are you with the controller? Is it really just plug and play?

As for the original post, I like the fit and finish of the SLP setup. The only thing i could ad is to get some side vents to reduce clutch heat and i purchased an AMP gauge cage which reduced underhood heat and makes it easy to see the gauge.

I run an MBRP on my 08. I've never had a problem with exhaust capoff even in deep powder. Sounds good and the fit and finish is awesome. My machine is stock other than the can and a larger throat in the stock airbox. Weighed when I put it in and lost 13lbs.

There are older threads about this on here, 07-10 M1000 takes the same can.
