What boots are using.

Hey everyone, did a search and didn't come up with much, but wondering what boots are you riding with and what do you like aloe dislike about them.

I have been running Alpinestars Toucan boots for two seasons with great luck. I have a few customers with the Corizal as well and they like them. The Toucans are pricey, but are waterproof, warm, and give me the moto boot feel that I am used to.

Warm with regular winter socks... Anything special? Or just put them on like snowmobile boots?

My personal experience--went with motofist stomper 2.0 last year. Thought they were awesome--shifted well, not too big. After 3 rides i had a hole in the side of my right boot from my kicker. Didn't really affect performane though. After about 40 more rides with them they were completely destroyed. I finished out my season with various work and moto boots from my closet.
This year i'm going with a pair of klim adrenalines that i found a good deal on. Hoping to get a full season out of them.

Nothing special. I just wear a heavy sock and they were warm and dry. As you know, dry is warm so keeping the moisture out is a bigger issue than insulation.

Klim Adrenaline GTX. 3rd season on them... still waterproof and very comfortable. I just wear regular cotton Costco socks. If they are ever wet it's because my foot was sweating during the late spring.

If you have an e-start bike most snwomobile boots work fine. I run MF alphas and like them a lot, but the kicker on the YZ does take its tole, especially if you let your foot shoot off the side.

I put about 90 rides on my alphas this year and really like them, did start getting wet thru my kicker hole later in the season, but its spring and I ride in shorts half the time, so becomes a lot less of a big deal.

I would not ride in anything but a dirt bike boot. I have tried a couple and love my Alpinstars Corazal.

Coldwave used to make a sno-X boot that was basically a MX boot but insulated. I still have a pair that I only used a handful of time sno-X racing before I opted for snowboard boots. They work awesome for snowbiking. Im so glad I still have them.

I tried snowboard boots and didn't like the feel as they were so far from Moto boots. Ended up finding the Forma Terra boots which have a much stiffer sole than their adventure boot. It's more like a moto boot with a waterproof liner, Goretex like. I just wear a nice pair of wool socks and they have been great so far. Cheaper than the AStars.

From talking to a Lowa rep a few years back he said that cotton socks are the worst thing to wear with goretex as the goretex is trying to pull away the moisture but the cotton won't let it. Maybe it would help with the late spring rides. I've had good luck with the stance snowboard socks or a pair of darn tough socks too.

Stance socks are the best. I run Klim or HMK socks too but my Stance are like no other.

How long until we see a snow bike specific boot? Basically a waterproof insulated MX boot.

On my second set , only real complaint is that the foot pegs eventually eat threw the soles . Some one PLEASE make a newer version of this boot because it has everything , ankle support , shin protection to compliment knee braces , warmth ,and are fairly easy to walk in . A hard core Gortex would be nice also , not asking for much .

I've only ridden 5 times, but used snowboard boots and didn't have any issues with shifting. No Rekluse on the bikes I rode either. I'm using the bike to get up and snowkite using a snowboard so I prefer to use the same boots that I use for snowboarding. Luckily they work just fine for both.

I've been using $20 craigslist special snowboard boots with good success as long as I stay on the Estart bikes. Kicker bikes put holes in them very quickly. I keep my Klim adrenaline boots for the skidoo days. Forma boots are looking good.
