What are your favorite gloves for Boondocking?

I try to ride with moto gloves that have neoprene or some sort of windproofing element on the back of them. Another pair of gloves that work really well are Youngstown carpenter gloves, they make some that have gore-tex in em so they stay pretty dry (only $30). If i'm gonna be doing alot of digging though i have a pair of marine (blue ball specials) rubber gloves that i keep in the seat handy and i just slip them on whenever i know i'm gonna have my hands in the snow. They help keep everything dry. The biggest thing though that i think is important is a nice set of grips. Stock grips are the worst...

Thanks for the link.

I see there are the gloves you mention;

The Tundra for $69.99

The Cold Condition Waterproof for $39.99

The Cold Condition - Cold Condition for $31.99

The Cold Condition Summit for $19.99

All appear to be waterproof but the Summit model. Yet it is still recommended for winter resort work.

I see the Tundra has a gauntlet around the wrists.

I'm thinking maybe a pair of Tundras for the ride in and home from the play areas and a pair of Cold Condition waterproofs for playing on the hill?

I'm SO confused.......................

Seriously, the Tundra's are fine for all but the warmest days. They are Goretex waterproof/breathable too. You can buy for less than list price at many places, here's one...

gloves

I tried the monarch pass glove by moose wich is a cold weather dirt bike glove after a couple of hours of pow my hands get wet but stayed warm my problem was when i went to take them off the inside came out like it has a liner exept stitched at the cuffs. H ad to put on my spare pair. I told the rep and he said the xcr cold weather dirt bike glove was the ticket. I have a pair on order i will let you know. As long as i don't have a seperate inner glove i don't have problems

I have 3 pairs of the True North Adventure gloves (one over the cuff, and 2 short gloves). Have been pretty happy with them, but up here in the NW, I always pack 3 pairs of gloves on the deep days, because they still eventually get wet (or at least feel wet and cold). Just this year I bought a pair of the Klim powercross gloves and have been very impressed with the waterproofing (hard to beat Gore-tex - Those Ironclads in a previous post would be interesting to try on...). I am going to start wearing those (Klim's) over my TNA's because they are better for waterproofing. For pure dexterity, I prefer the TNA's, but not by much. Hope this helps.

Wow, you guys are a lot of help!

I got on E bay and did a search for some of the gloves you have lsited.

I found a pair of new in the box Ironclad Gortex Tundra gloves that retail for $69.99 for $30.00 buy it now with $4.00 shipping. So I bought them and they are on the way for $34.00 total. I'd still like to try the Ironclad Cold condition waterproof as well. They don't have the gauntlets and may be better for the warmer days and retail for only $39.99. Heck, I bet I can find a pair of them on E bay for $19.99?

Now, I'd like to buy a set of both the Klim Inversions and the TNA Storms to try as well. They are out of stock on the TNA Storm gloves in medium until mid January so maybe the Klims will come next.

I guess I'm just tired of not having good gloves and I feel it's time to pony up for some good ones.

Maybe this should have been first but, next it will be trying to decide which avalanche beacon..................

Lee, you will like the Iron Clad Tundras. Both, the wife and I wear them. I can hammer down the trail on the way to the "good stuff" and my hands are allways warm (note; my handwarmers suck with the Alluminum Fly Bars).

When boondocking; I switch to Fox Thermal Paws but put the Tundras back on when needing to dig out a sled. I am going to get me another set of Tundras because I melted the palms of my current pair on the wife's exhaust:face-icon-small-blu so now they allow water in:mad:.

Klim Inversion glove with windstopper gore-tex I was riding with them today at 28 degrees and they were fine. If it were really cold I would wear a heavier glove but these work pretty good and are LIGHT!

I like the klim togwotee gloves alot my hands never got cold, i bought some klim powerx's but i haven't used 'em yet.

I bought both the togwotee glove and the cuffed TNA storm glove last yr... For trail riding here back east the tog glove is great all around... The TNA glove is ok for trail duty here provided its not below about 20 and were not running 60mph for miles on end...
When i went to Togwotee last, i used both gloves and both worked great...Tog glove on the way out and into the lodge w/the TNA in between...

When cold or usually on the trail I wear the Klim Togwotee. I can remove the liner and even though it's a bit big it's a good back up once on the hill. On the hill I wear the RU Outside Vortex with no liner (I bought them smaller to wear that way) but have recently started wearing the Klim Klimate glove which is more waterproof and the feel is improving as they break in with more rides. Really liked the RU but the gauntlet is short and a little small to go over my coat.

Love my TNA for colder weather. That's MN cold so 0 or lower. Have gotten cold bombing the lakes in these though. I admit it, I have handlebar guantlets!!

For warmer weather or slower riding I to spent the money for Fox Therma Paws, both for sled and bike. And I know they work after pulling docks this fall and dunkign the hands. Also worked the course all day at a nasty muddy hare scramble pushign and pulling bikes. I was the only guy out of 20 or so with DRY as a bone hands.

I have both styles of the TNA brand. thay are both warm, Great gloves. I still prefer the feel and grip of the Machanix gloves. My only problem is keeping them dry. I found. best way to keep them dry is to have a second(or even third) set of gloves you just use to dig out with.

Switch and put the wet pair in a mesh bag under the hood to dry out.
