What are you snowchecking?

Someone asked that question on the Axys Chat on facebook the other night, they said the Pros come equipped with scratchers and the SKS comes with the extra bogies.

Scratchers standard on the Pro are a cheap way to reduce warranty liability.

Selling a sled with no front cooler and no scratchers will just lead to overheating issues during warranty. They are close to unrideable in certain conditions without scratchers, just to get to the good snow. If they eliminate the scratchers on the pro, this will come up again next winter.

I'm doing exactly like richracer1 above, minus the clickers..gonna eventually put on Exit shocks or minimum exit triple rate springs..
I'm not ordering storage either. Most of us have the mountain addiction bags/cans im sure so will be reusing them overpriced bags till they break or get stolen lol.

I'm slightly torn on getting the ultimate front bumper or not. I personally prefer skinz bumpers front and rear which is comparable to the factory one in price so may stick standard bumpers till skinz releases their version
I'm at $15,400 ish

BTW, I'm keeping my '14 Pro as a back-up. I have a Powder Keg on my '14, so that will reused as well as the extreme rear bumper from my '14 or I'll get a new rear extreme this fall.

Makes sense. I just didn't know if there were better options out there. I am getting the small tunnel bag and extreme front and rear bumpers.

It doesnt look like the rear adds too much tunnel stiffening? Would I be better off to wait for an aftermarket that goes down the tunnel furhter?

Ordered a axys rmk 163x3" orange and white with orange tunnel. With the clickers.

Im having a really hard time choosing my colors but im thinking about going with....

PRO RMK 155 2.6
Clickers
Under seat storage bag
High rise handlebars
White lightning w/red plastics
Black tunnel
Red rails

Everything else standard, 4 year warranty, standard guage, ect

Internet price is $15399 CAD, hopefully the dealer brings that down... A lot...

I'm assuming anything under the dealer installed accessories at the listed msrp it adds above my snowcheck build means I would be bring home my take-offs at delivery?? Like a stock bumper if replaced with an extreme, a stock gauge if PIDD bought separately etc ..

Right now I am leaning toward this sled with the 2.6 series 6 track. Thinking of doing a LI battery and aftermarket can to get the weight closer to the pro. I always add wheels to my pros anyway so I am not worried about that. Should weigh the same or less than my 2012 Pro when done. I believe the Axys chassis will make a bigger difference in handling than the belt drive so still a win win. Or I can always add a TKI drive.

Pro 155 Orange w/black tunnel/rails. Mid black shield, tall bars, clickers. I can't give them my money fast enough!:face-icon-small-ton

SKS is the better sled for where I ride but 408 lbs and the QD trumps the front cooler option. Scratchers are cheap......

I am having the same tough decision. However, after 4 years of watching my temperatures like a hawk, carrying extra scratchers and even changing out broken ones on trips I pretty sure I am going with the SKS. Plus the clicker shocks are standard. I always add wheels to my RMK rails just to make my hyfax last anyway. I am thinking of doing a LI battery (or you can choose no electric start and loose 17 lbs) and aftermarket can which will get my weight really close to what the pro is. My buddy is going with the PRO so after riding his if the belt drive is really that big of a deal I will order a TKI belt drive and have a better belt drive anyway.

My buddy has a 2015 standard RMK with all the Pro snowcheck goodies and his sled on road sides runs 30-50 degrees cooler than mine even with my scratchers down. My 08 RMK has the front cooler and the only time I have to run scratchers is on a plow down road or ice.

So why do they say that the 2.6 is a better all around track? Is it mostly the cooling issues? I was set on a 2.6 but talking to one of the guys in the shop, he said get the 3. He said as long as you are conscious of the temps, it won't be a problem. But then there is the issue of the belt drive vs the chaincase. I'm torn here on what to do.

Axys Pro 163 w/ 2.6 track. I like the belt drive and I want the weight to be as low as possible. Regular W/E shocks which will be swapped out with the revalved ones on my 13 with the possible exception of the rear track shock which I may not be able to swap. The jury is out on that at my shop. They are saying that there is only 1/4" difference in eye to eye length between the two shocks. I will run a heavier spring on the rear track shock too. I am purchasing a Diamond S Titanium Quiet muffler for it to lose an additional 18 lbs. which will put the dry weight under 400 lbs. I am going to look at the SLP pipe too if it truly can be used without a fuel controller on the H.O. motor. That will lose a little more weight and increase the horsepower. I am excited for this new sled and hoping for a regular winter next season.

Just snow checked a sled for the first time. Blacked out SKS with 2.6 track, bags, extreme front bumper and skid plate. Also got scratchers and a tether switch. It is going to be a long summer!
