Well fella's, she sounds pretty good. Lynn just got 'er buttoned up around 430 today and pulled the rope. He smiled! Lynn said "she sounds purdy healthy. You can feel it through the bars. Definetly going to be a runner". That's pretty good coming from Lynn(or Yoda as I call him!). He followed BIG JOHNS notes and set 'er up with his recomendations. We're both pretty excited to get the break in done and she how she runs. If it ever decides to snow here again:cool:, I'll give you and update. I'm leaving the stock track on for know since we couldn't find any 3 pitch 8 tooth drivers for 'er. But that will be a good comparison. I'll break 'er in, doo a few rides with the stock track, than i'll have Lynn doo the driveshaft recall and swap to the Camo Extreme 156 at the same time. I'll ride it one day, and Lynn will swap the track/driveshaft/drivers that night so I can get a pretty fair comparison of the tracks. Stay tuned:face-icon-small-win

XP stock drivers

If this is an XP you can use the stock drivers. I've had my 156x16x2.5 on for a little over two weeks. It is a direct bolt on addition without changing anything. I love the track. Well actually I did do a little clutch work. Riding sea level to 6000 feet-412 ramps, 18.1 gr pins, stock springs and the Shockwave helix at 3 turns out.

After we put a driver in the camo, it looked kinda ugly! You haven't had any problems at all? It looks like it might tear the tar out of the track or the drivers, or both:face-icon-small-dis

Ya...it's just waaaaay out of balance. Tic, tic, tic.....BOOOOM! LOL....just kidding! Keep us posted!

Camo

I haven't had any problems to speak of. I did run the track a little tight for a few miles to stretch it out and it did seen to have a little extra vibration . Loosened it up and the vibration is gone. The stock drivers are 2.86 pitch. The 3.0 drivers are actually 2.88.

That's interesting. I know there's a bunch of guys running the same way you are, but i'm stumped. The 3.0's are 2.88? What the H?

3.0 pitch 156x16x2.5

Here is a pick during the install of my track. I had already removed my 2.25 powdermax and sold it. Picked up my replacement driveshaft from the dealer and did the install myself.

The CNC'd drivers from Avid are 2.88 because the drivers are 1/4" smaller.
Lots of people are running the 2.86 drivers with their 3.0 track. Ask BJ if it makes you feel better, he'll tell ya it's fine.

hey trinity. I got my RKT together and out for one ride last week. I jetted it very rich for the first ride and got 15 on it. It runs very strong for how rich the jetting is. The top end pull is a lot stronger than stock and the torque is amazing. Its like having a 40hp shot of n2o all the time. You will love it.

2.5*162 camo extreme

Ran mine since new last year. Over 800 miles and no problems. The clearance is great except at 12:00. I did a slight tunnel press there.

I have run camo extremes on NW Montana on last 3 sleds. It is like adding 15-20 hp IMO.

Sounds like I need a 860 kit. Why did you guys not go to the 880? Sounds like the 860 is proven but some good results on the 880 also.

I have Holtz front end and the super q can as well.

I went with BIG JOHN because if 2 things. One, he is very accessible. Not too many guys get on here and say "just call me, I can help". Secondly, I couldn't find more than one bad comment about his 860. That one bad comment came from someone who did his "own set-up" and clutching(and sounded like he was 15 years old!:D). I think BIG JOHN is a straight shooter......that is pretty hard to find now a days:beer; Thanks for the info on the track guys. I'll leave the stocker on for a few "test runs", and then throw the camo on.:face-icon-small-ton

the only guys i know doing the 880 are using weisco forged pistons. i've never had a weisco piston last. if i would of had weiscos in my 860 they would been toast the first ride. 10 miles of break in on the cast pistons Rkt/BJ use, thenride it like you stole it.

I know BIG JOHN doesn't like the Wiseco's too much. The 880's and 885's just don't have the developement time that the 860's doo. There are quite a few 860 kits out there. I'm as excited to ride this beast as Barrack Obama is to speak;):D

Look forward to your update after you get that Beast out for a roost. I'm thinking of the same mods for my sled. I hope you gear it down for some killer climbs instead of gearing it up to trail race the groms...

Questions on the 860's. Do you have to mess with the jetting to much. Myabe go a little richer and let the DPM take care of it? What does BJ recommend. I want to maybe do a 860 next year but want to jet and ride it..don't waht something I am always messing with on the trial....man can't believe I just said that...I am getting old!!

BIG JOHN recommends starting with 480's, that's stock, and then trying 470's. And shimming the needles .030. That's for my set-up 10k up.
