Has anyone else broken the bulkhead where the motor plate attaches? I searched but didn't find any results. I guess I will weld it up. I only found it because I was putting in some new pistons. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

That's not common really, but I've seen it on a number of sleds. It is something that can be welded pretty easily though.

Well this sucks

Be sure to weld a backing plate in. Welding aluminum makes it brittle and it will break again right next to the weld.

Because of the location, welding it should be no problem. It will not compromise the integrity of the bulkhead and should add strength if a backing plate is added. I would also put new motor mounts on the motor plate. If one of them was fatigued it would allow too much vibration and cause cracks.
