Build yourself a set of bolt on running boards....

I too have made a lift. At work not at school. Also made up a few sets of sled dollies, hitch for my ice fishing tub and a few hitches to go into the receiver on my sled hitch. Ramp for loading sled into pick-up. Made up a sled rack 20 years ago for the back my 86 400 indy. Tire changing equipment for my motorcycle tires. Good luck

Just weld a bunch of crap together and call it art.:D Get two classes done at once.

haha i acually did do that at the begining of the year. My teacher didnt seem to like that very much. great ideas, aluminum is out of the question since our school will not buy a tig welder.

i tried that to, the teacher got all pissed and said it was a waist of metal or some crap like that. for an actuall project i built a very healthy push bar for the front of the 73 chev i was drivin at the time. i seen some kids build trailors, horsefeeders, rockerpanel guards for there offroaders, car ramps, and other things.

Very good ideas but forgot to mention that trailers and sled decks are kinda out of the question, because im the only kid acually taking the welding class the school will not invest in a decent welder that can weld big stuff. Really wanted to build a deck though. Thought about doing that for my Senior project with my uncle but then somthing else came up. Keep em coming.

Make your own superclamp tie down bar. That should be complicated enough.

A snowmobile dolly. Two wheels, looks like an over sized refrigerator dolly. Lifts the sled off the ground, so you can move it around.

Make some light poles for you trailer. Extendable, so you can run them up, and light your trailer at night, while your loading..

You could make a sled hood out of spring steel, and cover it in mesh.

Make some A arms, or trailing arms out of chrome moly. (might need a TIG for that).

A tool box, for the tongue of your trailer.

You're the only kid in your grade talking the class? Why is that?

The class is called Advanced IA which means you can either do Welding, Woodworking, or small engines. Everyone else is doing woodworking, and our shop teacher does not know the first thing about welding. The first day i had to show him how to get the welder set up and showed him how to get a good weld. So thats a sum up of our welding class.

If your really the only one taking on welding then maybe talk to your school and see if they could use something

rack to hold wrestling mats, bin to hold b-balls, chin lift bar for the weight room etc

talk to your 4h club, see if they want a greenhouse and weld em up the framework and glue in some glass

make your school see the value of welding, maybe you can really do some good. perhaps even get your mug in the local papers

just my .02

you could build your self a headache rack, I like the BBQ idea or if you still had that chev turn it in to a 4 wheel steer. it fun to do and you'll learn a lot.
