Hi guys I have a friend who races carb sleds and also efi sleds. His coil went on his efi sled and he took the coil and wires off of his carb sled. Will this work. From what he says a coil is a coil and will work on any sled it just mounts up diffrent Is this true?

Most generally yes.. same way with car/truck tractor just need the right coil 6v-12v... I know some guys useing high output automotive coils on there race quads
