Weird Code 81

My sled Is now throwing a Code 81. I can drive down the trail all day at light to mild throttle but when I punch it it'll throw a Code 81. Pull over to the side of the Trail shut it down fire it back up and it goes away until the next wide open run.

The code is an handlebar warmer code my hand warmers havnt worked all winter never had a code until now but only at WOT???

Sounds silly but do you have a roll over valve with tether? If so you might find your unit at wide open stutters and maybe the dash blinks sometimes too. If so replace the relay on your tether system, we had some customers with this issue, will pop a code 81 hand warmer code too. Get the relay at any automotive store. Cheers Shad

Mine did the same but the code only comes on if the circuit is open or shorted. So your Warmers may not work and not give a code till one of those conditions is met.

Thats why I said it was silly, dash will blink fast and sometimes the machine will stutter at wide open, then you will get a code 81 hand warmer, seen it a few times with customer this year. Shad

I had a Faulty Relay on my ROV so I changed that last week then I started getting this code. But I also installed my new water meth controller... Turns out the controller was faulty so once I removed the controller no more code.

But now after getting stuck yesterday I shut the sled off to dig myself out once I fired it back up I got a engine light and oil light.

Shut it back off checked the oil everything was fine started it again no more oil light but my friend that was following me said it was burning oil.

Im starting to think this sled hates me.....

I had the same thing happen, turned out it was my roll over valve tether.

After talking with Dustin at Outlaw Motor Sports, he suggested taking some electrical contact cleaner and spraying it in there as he thought that I was getting some water in there.

I did that, and ever since I have not had a problem.

I had the same code 81 come on this weekend. Funny how that is. I'm trying to figure out how to fix it. I have a roll over kit on my sled that I unhooked to put back to stock. This didn't fix it. I noticed later that my oil sensor wire was disconnected from the oil tank. I plug it back in. It didn't change code 81 and the weird thing about it was the oil light didn't come on when it was unplugged. Would code 81 have anything to do with the oil sensor? Could one code prevent another from coming on? I don't know where to go from here. I'm going to work on it tomorrow morning. Any suggestion to get code 81 fixed and why the oil sensor is not working? Thanks
