Weights on M-Series Sleds?

8lbs off between the crank and seat. Not sure they are posting weights yet but you could deduct those from the 09 sled weights.
so essentially the exact same weight as an 09 snowcheck?
wow, they really outdid themselves this year.
That weight off of the snowcheck I would think
If you don't take into consideration the boss seat that came stock on our snowchecks yeah, but I think the weight loss on the seat is based on the stocker, not the boss(cat) seat that ours came with. Since the boss is not coming on the snowchecks this year it seems you lose 1 lb at best compared to last year.
Am I off on this?

Backcountry you are correct, I did the math too and if you compare snowcheck to snowcheck the 10 is 1lb lighter at best. Stock 09 162 was 463lb, -8 for the boss seat and you are at 455. 2010 loses 3.5lb as compared to stock seat and 4 lb from the crank, I'll give the ski's a 1lb weight difference since those stock skis were already pretty darn light. So that makes the the 2010 454.5lb. Buy an slp single exhaust kit for the 09 gain 14hp over the stock 145 and BAM you are at 160ish hp and a lighter sled since the slp single drops off another 8lb I believe. If you already own an 09 I see no reason to upgrade. If you are looking to buy I would look for an 09 at a reduced price and ride it. Don't get me wrong I'm happy to see AC doing more improvements, it for me just isn't enough to upgrade. One more thing I went through crank issues on my last sled POO, not to willing to be the gunipig again.
Ok this is the scoop. New m8 is 2lb lighter than 09 with out boss seat. 2010 m8 come with the 1000 can that is 20lbs. Good news is if you buy can you lose up to 15lbs.
HACK, cough, oh, so the 10 snowcheck is 5 lbs heavier than the 09????

Don't get me wrong, I would never leave a stock can on a sled, but there are peope that ride stock sleds, that sucks.

The real question for me is how did they come up with more hp............10 more ?
Stock weight is always a good starting point, but I've been riding my M8 at less than the 09's since the week I bought the sled in the fall of 07.
But hey...........10 more good horses would be good ! But ten more hp by raising the rpm by 500 rpm.............well lame, been done by lots of aftermarket guys over the years whose names have been long forgotten. You either can feel it or you taint got it.
