I was thinking the same thing about that vent.. is it the whole pet screen and plastic set up? Or...
Definatly doesnt look like a wedge anymore thats for sure. I think im going to go that route.

Yes it's good 'ol Home Depot pet screen but the frame is .040 alum. with chrome powder coating. Used Gorrilla Glue to glue the screen to the frame on the back.

So is it all held on the hood with the gorilla glue? or did you use rivets?

Glued the screen to the frame, then riveted the frame to the hood.
If you would like to order this SHMO ind. hood the part number on my old receipt refers to it as model CatPoo-P

I know this thread is kinda old, but does anyone have more info on this stuff?? I am currently in the process of building a sled and I have the edge Lexan hood for it and the nose cone, but the nose cone got busted some and I would like to buy another, but mountainfit doesnt seem to be a company anymore?? Also for the ones who have done this whats dash/console look like? I am trying to mod an Edge console to fit in there, but it just isnt going my way.. anyone have any pics of the dash part of their sled after this conversion? anyone have any info on mountainfit? Thanks

98 XC with Gen-edge hood
I just installed the mountainfithood Gen-edge hood w/ retro kit on my 98 Polaris XC and it came out great. I also installed the vent kit. I did have to do some cutting to make it fit correctly but that was easy. I'll put up pics if your interested.

PICS PLEASE! I am gonna redo the old Wedge in the garage this summer also and have seen the Mountain fit site. Sent them a question about the nosecone also, but not in a hurry so was not a big deal yet. Just another question you say that a GenII bellypan and hood will interchange on the bulkhead? I am gonna need a bellypan for mine, so I can use a GenII bellypan????
Also that Catpoo hood is way cool also!!! Would confuse all the Ditch pickle riders I ride with here in the flats! Will keep looking at this post!!!

You need to use a 99 Gen II belly pan with outboard trailing arms to switch straight across from the old wedge without any major work.
