We are failing our children

How does a child turn into such a monster? There is an increasing # of parents and guardians that need to get a grip on their kids and stop trying to be the kids' best friend. Know what they're up to, be active in their lives, instill morals/ethics, and don't EVER stop. As adults we really need to take a step back and look at the influences that are affecting our children. It's time to stop making excuses for and accommodating elements that are destroying our youth. If children don't have strong positive influences early on, there's no reason to be surprised they're turning out this way.

Oh, and if you aren't going to commit to fully supporting your child from day one to at least 18, keep your clothes on or figure out how to use birth control properly! The world doesn't need anymore 'accidents'.

they should kneecap him and tie him buy the ankles to the back of a truck and drag him around for a couple of hours and then string him up by the wrists and let him hang till the smell got to bad and throw him in the dump with the rest of the trash

This is why we cant parent our kids...You say "get a grip" on them. At some point it IS neccessary to "get a grip" on them and as you try this they take them from you and put them in the system. I am NOT saying beat your kids but I am saying WE THE PARENTS are losing our own rights to raise our kids.

We can try our best but even the best kids get in trouble at some point or pushes his parents. And when your 7 year old son comes home and your find out he stole a item from another kid at school and you go to correct him and he says....."you cant lay a hand on me my teacher said"<-----------thats where the liberals start there poison.

BTW, to finish my story my son did return the kids toy that night and had a red azz to sit on the next day. He has NEVER stole another thing since.

You can still spank your kids, you just have to change the terminology you use so that it is socially palatable. I call it a time out as that is what is socially acceptable for discipline these days. That way when the kid is complaining about having a time out no one raises a hairy eyebrow.

im sure he wont have that little smile on his face when he's the b*tch in prison.....

why did the judge allow him to wear that shirt in the court room?

A bent, broken, corrupt and defeated justice system can take blame also. If we were to take people like this and hang them out in the town square until they got so dry that the magpies wouldn't touch 'em, perhaps the other sick and twisted individuals would think twice about commiting such crimes.

Yep, its sad when parents tell their kids sports are more important than school. I went to a private school, and even there it was crazy the number of parents who wanted to watch their kids play basketball more than help them academically. My dad used to spend up to an hour helping me through my math classes. Some of my best friends couldn't get any help at home because their parents said we don't know how to do it.

That kid had NO parenting apparently. Prob abandoned and living with his grandparents as reported?

Sick little bastage either way! His parents should be in prison with him!

My daughter decided to take a gift home one day from the local home improvement store, she was probably 6-7 then. Called the mgr and scheduled a meeting for the next day, daughter had to look him in the eye and admit that she took something and apologized. He scared the chit out of her by making her aware of the typical consequences (not screaming at her), I then drove her by the teen deliquent center after to let her know what happens normally in these situations.

SHe didn't need her azz beat, she needed to be reminded of what is right and wrong. Don't think it will happen again:)

Agreed. These brutal crimes deserve more than the average punishment. There has to be something there as a deterrent, as the people doing these shootings don't even attempt to not get caught. Just wearing that shirt into court should get the hell beaten out of you on national TV.

Judge should have stopped the clown show in his court when the kid removed the blue buttoned shirt and exposed the insulting shat show underneath.

Judge is at fault for letting that go on even for a SECOND.

Hope they give him a brand new T shirt in prison. A picture of Richard Nixon on the front and the slogan I like Dick on the back.

if i was the Judge,...when this guy said he was going to play with himself with the hand that held the gun that killed the others.....and then he fingered everyone...

i would have ordered all his fingers amputated...

Some is not so simple. My stepkid used to steal anything she could get her hands on. Mom's Ipod, we caught her taking it to school, punished her, the next day she hid the Ipod in her sock and tried to steal it again. This child has NO reponse to punishment. We used to make her stand in the corner, every time she did it, another half hour. That kid was up to 2 full hours standing in the corner before we realized that it wasn't going to make a difference. She has some mental issues that she got from her biodad though, so it is a unique situation. The point is, she has NO response to punishment of any kind, and we tried everything, from talking to whooping ***. Nothing works with her.
Kids (my wife whe she was 18) need common sense and know to either not screw mentally challenged criminals, or have their parents be smart enough to encourage the right choices when tehy do become pregnant. My wife's side of the family had FIVE generations of women still breating until a couple years ago. Do the math, most of them were breeding between 16-18.

Kids like that are becoming more and more. Why?

Because they aren't taught values, morals and regard for human life. We aren't allowed to discipline them with *** whoopings anymore. They get caught stealing or misbehaving they get their Iphone taken away. You and I got our as$es beat soundly. Show me one kid from the 80s and early 90s that killed other kids at school. You can't. The only school shootings I ever heard of were the gangland ones in the movies. When I attended HS (I graduated in 1992) we all had guns in our trucks and cleaned them in study hall. We all had knives in our pockets. None of us ever even considered using them on other kids. We had fists for that. Knives are for cleaning fish and skinning elk. The guns were used for shooting coyotes and gophers after school. We had problems as kids but it was just beer. And most kids learned their lessons with that. We were smarter back then. Kids today, as a whole are just plain stupid. They can't write, they can't work and they have no values.

I don't believe kids today are stupid. I believe the title of this thread. Single family homes, both parents working etc is driving a lack of parenting which is the significant contributor to these problems.

Net. Parents are indeed failing the children!
