I bought a mod mm sled this past summer and the PO mounted the gauge on a piece of flat black plastic that he then rivited above the starter pull cord and the sensor was installed into the upper radiator hose via a plastic splice. On a negative note, the glass on the gauge is busted from an impact with his knee so either keep you knees out of there or stick the gauge somewhere else. I plan to replace the gauge with the same and leave everything as he had it for now.
