Only if it is trying to take off from a treadmill that is traveling in the opposite direction.

I usually counter wrap my band to get a tighter curve..

What kind of pattern and what size holes? Will there be any performance gains or will it still seem stock?

Then when it smells better install the felker mod kit to cover them for better performance.
