Wastegate question

So riding yesterday I hit DET once all day, the issue was it just so happened that the pull when I hit det I looked down at my boost gauge and it read 12lbs, the only issue here is my sled is supposed to be running 8lbs. It did seem to be pulling harder too so I know that it wasnt a gauge issue. Anyways I watched the gauge carefully the rest of the day and it never went past 8lbs. Any thoughts here? Is there something I should be worried about or what?

You sure it was holding 12 and not just the spike from throttle chop?? Doesn't really make sense if it held 8 rest of the day. Is it standard internal WG?

Yeah its the standard internal, as far as the turbo/wastegate its all the stock G Kit stuff.

What exactly is a boost spike?

Yeah my boondocker will spike to over double my boost setting. It only happens for a split second when you quickly let off the throttle, but the bd box will save it in the records

yes sir happens allot on the looser snow too. you guys should hear them on the dyno.
when you chop the throttle they go into det for a split second too. that boost spike combined with the fuel cut of throttle closing and you get a nice symphony of clicks.. not even a seconds worth but with the copper tube det sensor, you hear every last nuance of det rattle.. stuff your ecu ignores . but your ears cant fake it !!!! LOL..

a bov does nothing to stop that little bit of det as it cant react quick enough..

nerve racking too.
