Dude don't be like that. Take it from a guy that tends to be on the other (some would say wrong) side of issues, even though people disagree with your statement, it is a good slap back into reality of how some people think. Even though a lot of the responses were harsh, it is good to see people that are truly honest with themselves about themselves and there actions.

If this site was everyone agreeing about everything it would be pretty boring. Just accept that people don't agree with you and call it ok, even though you are wrong.

yea i know i just find that when topics tend to come into the religion/moral issues, things get really heated. Believe me, i know people disagree with me, and if this were a political forum id love to dive into it. i think this site tends to have more conservative christian members(nothing wrong with that), so when a arguement like this happens it doesnt really go anywhere. And i made sort of a harsh poke right at ollie in my original post, which wasnt nessecary.

In my rubuttle to the thread arguement, i just think that this day and age being the nice guy gets you screwed, or at least ive seen it happen. And to who that happened, the being good part never came back to him....

and for H2SNOW, nice post. in my life i've found that if i stick to those 10 i've been able to look a man in his eye and shake his hand. we dont have all the money in the world, but enough to be happy.

Yea, sometimes it gets pretty heated. Anytime you get into things that people feel very strongly about it can get ................ interesting. Doesn't mean ya have to take it personally. Get mad, yell, get over it.

I know some people must read this and think, "man he must have no soul". But let me tell you, if you spent time with the people i work with it makes me look like a wimp....And ollie, i know i love argueing as much as anyone, i just get hesitant on religious/moral topics cause people feel VERY passionate about them....

no worries man i didnt take it that way. And i think most people on this site are interesting and probably nice people to meet. I just wanted to put input into this because if your a simple guy who is happy just working his job day to day then those do apply. But i get bored quick, so my job is constantly changing, and to keep up i need to do things that arent nice, or wouldnt sound right by those commandments. I have friends who are happy doing what they do and dont want to change a thing. But i love the craziness of politics and cant do that, mabye later on in life.....

Man you've got guts. First you tell everyone that you've hosed people to get to where you are, now you tell everyone that you work in appropriations and are a lobbyist in D.C. Wow a license to steal money for pork and you get to bribe people also. How do you sleep at night?

Well i didnt completley get both benefits at the same time, i worked for a lobbying group (not thank you for smoking style, the boring stuff). Now i work on appropriations when Senate is in....

Good Reminder

Personally, I think we could all use a little more of that in our lives. My goal for everyday is to be the best person I can be, and I think that those 10 are about the best guide a person can have.

Good post H2, people seem to let their wants go past whats really true in life. Everyone has to keep up with the Jones'. I've been guilty of it, I've always thought life would be nicer with this or that, I think we've all thought this way in some point in time. Some people are drawn to people with the most materialistic things in their mind means more money. When that person has worked hard for what they have, only to get used by their "friends". There isn't many genuine people out there, they get selfish for money and forget what really is important. Its the "American way". Peoples morals have all gone out the window.
Money doesn't buy you health, even wealthy people die everyday.
Money doesn't buy happiness, love, it just gives you materialistic things and once you get what you want you'll be wanting more.
All I know is when things seem like they are going downhill, I remember all the important people in my life, and know they love me no matter what type of situation I'm in. My family and friends are my support group. My goal everyday also, is to be the best person I can be-no matter what it takes. Thanks for the post H2, it posts things back in check for some people and brings us to what really is important.

Does anyone else not enjoy the corruption that follows when we write laws that cater to the highest bidder?

Is there room for honest politicians anymore? Would be nice to see some integrity restored in this nation...

It is quite difficult for money not to dominate politics when money dominates the rest of society. We live in a monetary system and this is one of the problems with it. I don't think it will ever go away till monetary systems does first......

If you want honestly in politics you will need to get much deeper then the politicians themselves. When they speak publicly (senators), they dont read what they wrote, they read what we give them. Ive given KBH (Kay Bailey Hutchinson) speaking points seconds before she walks up onto the podium and speaks on c-span....

Sure, ill give a very basic example of how people get screwed. Say the boss wants a review of a senators 30 page proposal of a bill. This means hours of reading bull**** and then writing the points that need to be improved, strong parts, and cutting out pointless material. All in all doing this sucks! The boss wants it on friday, and its wednesday. that nice new kid Ben does it early and whats someone to read it over before he gives it to the boss to make sure its OK. Well i can slave away doing mine and same old **** continues, or i "borrow" Bens and turn it in a day early. Boss is happy and i get on the good side. A few more of those and im one step higher on the totem pole....

Thats a VERY basic example of what happens, but you get the idea....

So what would stop Ben from saying something to the boss?

Just remember that one day we will stand in judgement for EVERYTHING we have done. Even the things that we think we have "got away with". Sin is a very slippery slope. Not trying to come down on you or anyone else, because Im not perfect either. Just trying to offer a fellow Christian an outside perspective. I know I would appreciate it. Just my 2 cents.
