Wanting to add a D&D y-pipe

I have a 08' M1000 and was thinking about adding a d&d y pipe and then a can down the road, and I will be riding this sled in Iowa and a couple trip to the snowies at around 10,000 ft. Are there any adjustments that need to be made or will it run fine and not puke with just adding these two parts?

The Y will be too lean on long, hard pulls. Short pulls, maybe OK. You'll need more fuel. Plan on reading wash and plugs...a gauge is handy too (EGT or O2). AC uses three different maps/injectors and fuel pressures, depending on injectors...so every sled is different.

No, you will need to add fuel...controller (BD Box, PCIII, etc.). Some guys use a fuel regulator, but it fattens up the whole curve. A contoller is more precise.

the group i ride with had better luck with the speedwerx y-pipe...which i did and added the can, the big air intake from sw....my egts' were too high for my comfort, so i added a boondocker box, using a +6 on the wide open settings to keep temps in line with what they should be....i ride at 7-11k....one thing to remember is that on trips to the mountains, long periods at high power settings are pretty common...
