volatge meter low 3 bars/ low idle

Sled starts and idles fine. once up into the alpine (usually about 10-15 miles) the sled will still idle fine. But if I flip on my hand warmers the idle will drop to anywhere from 1300-1500 rpm. At the same time the voltage guage drops 3 bars. if I turn the warmers off the idle and gauge come back up. Sled seems to run fine and have good power. once driving the higher rpm's help the voltage guage come back up. What do you guys think this could be. I would think if it was a voltage regulator it would have no voltage at all the the sled would shut off. Thinking possibly the stator. sled is also not throwing a check engine light. seems like it takes some time and miles to make this problem show up.

Check your handwarmer wiring very carefully for rubbed/shorted wires. The system seems to be grounding out when you turn them on. If you can't find anything, disconnect the warmers themselves one at a time to isolate if one of the units itself is defective.

the thing is the problem doesn't happen until a while into the ride. the sled can sit and warm up fine with the handwarmers on. after the sled sits over night and then the next day it will start and idle fine again. but later into the ride it will do it again. if it was something in the hand warmer wiring wouldn't it happen all the time.
